For you south bounders.
Very general flying tips for down here.
Florida is flat. Very tempting for scud running but you MUST be careful
because since we don't have mountains, we use tall towers down here. At this
time of year we get broken clouds at 1,000 to 2000' with excellent visibility
underneath. Many of the tall towers down here are over 1,300 and 1,500 feet
AGL.
Be very cognizant of restricted areas. Those round ones that are hard to
notice on the charts are always "hot" in that they are high altitude moored
balloons for drug interdiction.
The MOAs are busy in this day and age (I live under one). Just keep your
eyes open in or near one. If you happen to be at our airstrip near sunset,
we get Apaches on low level training mission right across the middle of our
field two or three times a week. This is typical. There are a number of low
level training routes between the Georgia line and Lakeland.
The weather pattern is becoming more typical at this time of year for Florida
since we are no longer in a draught. Yesterday started out clear and we had
3" of rain by 6pm. This morning was clear and at 1100 we have cumulus clouds
at 1,500' with a chance of showers this afternoon.
There is no twilight down here. As a certified navigator I can explain this
but it'd take to long. At this time of year the sun will rise at 0615
(average). It sets at 1847 (average). Ten minutes later, it will be
completely dark. Plan accordingly.
Birds. Lots of them. At times I think the state bird should be the buzzard
(10 to 20 lbs). If you see one, know that there are more very near by. They
soar in groups called "kettles." Do not be surprise to see lots of eagles (
15 to 20+ lbs). The 'singles' are most likely eagles. You'll find all of
these high gliders from the surface up to the base of the clouds.
Right now the airplane count is about 20 maybe 21.
Look'n forward to see'n yawl.

I am very appreciate all of you advices me the painting strip information. It is
really help me to know how to do the CJ's painting job here. Because I know
all our people don't like Chinese poor paints and the painting job in our side
are expensive. The strip job almost cost half the painting price.I think if I
can strip the old paints here, it will be reduce the cost for our people over
there. The labors here is better than ours.
I like to do the CJ business better and better and will learn more things from
all of you.
Thanks again

And dont forget to mention to bring "gator cord" to drape around the
airplanes otherwise our indigenous reptiles have been know to eat the tires
off of the aircraft. For some reason they tend to prefer Goodyears', but
they've been know to eat all types.

Andrew, one key to continued success in American business is prompt payment
of debts. Perhaps you should consider paying Jim Selby what you have owed
him for more than a year.

Friends,
I just heard today that an eight year long friend with whom I worked
and camped with as and EAA Volunteer (every year until purchasing the
CJ) passed away earlier this month. He was a good EAA friend and I will
miss him. Since purchasing the warbird he has made it a point to come
over to see me when we flew in.
Most likely you will not know him (Rod Dutt) but I wanted to point out
the importance of friendships we make thru EAA and our love of aviation.
Be sure to enjoy every moment with everyone you fly and spend time with
in our great aviation society. There will be times like these when you
may not see them again.
Have a great time at SNF and tell everyone hello from Kansas.
Sincerely,
tc

In this small of a community a very wise man says: It is wise to pay ones
debts .......or else.
I hope this issue will be taken care of promptly because it could lead to
sells problems in the near future. Not a good practice to do in the USA at
this time. Always pay your debt!
I'm sure that Andrew will do the RIGHT THING.........moving forward.
Lets pull together and sing Kum-bi-ya....

Well, if "Honest Andrew" is finally going to settle his debts, he owes me an entire
tail assembly (including elevators and rudder), an oil cooler, and an operable
ADI. Don't hold your breath Mr. Selby, he promised he would make it right
for me over 3 years ago. I never heard from him again. If anyone on this
list has purchased an airplane from him, check it out VERY,VERY carefully. You
have been warned!

Is there anyone else that wants to put in their 2 cents worth on this
subject?
I think the bottom line is that you treat people the way you want to be
treated.........
If Andrew truly owes money to people and parts then he should do the right
thing and
pay his debts to these people. If he doesn't pay these people back,
then people will hear about it quickly and he will no longer be able to sell
any aircraft without massive amounts of problems moving forward.
It's a small but powerful community (YPA) and I'm proud to be a card
carrying member but we
also need to make sure that our members are not being taken advantage of on
purpose. Problems
can be resolved..........we just need do the right thing.
Kum-bi-ya............

Hey, speaking of old debts; did Bill Scully ever get his free airplane that
"Honest Andrew" promised him for doing all that work for him? The last time
I spoke with Bill he hadn't seen one red cent from him, much less an
airplane. Hmmm....... I think I see a pattern here.
