I was hoping you could tell me what problems you look for in an airframe that has performed an accidental tail slide. -- Brian Lloyd 6501 Red Hook Plaza, Suite 201 brian@lloyd.com St. Thomas, VI 00802 +1.340.998.9447 - voice +1.360.838.9669 - fax

--> Yak-List message posted by: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net> ...the accident that took the life of airshow pilot Chris Smisson recently was sad, indeed tragic. Jim Goolsby was there to see it. For the record, the plane was widely identified as a "Sukhoi"...in fact it was a Technovia SP-95, virtually a metal Sukhoi. I just got done reading his bio, and I thought you might find it of interest. What struck me, as it always does with these guys, is how unforgiving flying can be, and that mother earth couldn't give a rats behind about your credentials... I know I'm not saying anything new here, but I figure the fresher it stays in our minds, the better chance we have. http://www.airshowunlimited.com/chris.html Barry Hancock Red Stars, Inc. 949.300.5510 www.allredstar.com "Communism - Lousy Politics, Great Airplanes"

    Subject: Pilot reports
    From: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net>
--> Yak-List message posted by: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net> Hi gang, We would like to start posting pilot reports, or PIREPS, on allredstar.com. If you would like to write up a pirep for your mount, be it a Yak-50/52/55, CJ, or whatever (well, we really don't promote spam cans...or helicopters...or the french government), we'd love to consider it for the site. Also, we have a *live* (read instant) Chat Room on the site as well. I actually used it at length for the first time last night and enjoyed it thoroughly. The Chat room can be accessed through the navigation bar on the site. Red Star update: We have received over 35 registrations, with many more expected attendees still to register. There's a pretty wide range of birds that will be showing up...rumors that even an F-5 with a Red Star on the tail may make an appearance. To see a complete list of the aircraft attending, and the number registered, go to http://www.allredstar.com/Current_ops_RS_Attendance.asp With the war substantially over (God bless our troops) and oil prices declining, it looks like we'll have a great turnout... Cheers, Barry Barry Hancock Red Stars, Inc. 949.300.5510 www.allredstar.com "Communism - Lousy Politics, Great Airplanes"
