I had no trouble calibrating mine we just started by putting 10 litres in
tank and adjusted sender units on top of tanks they have adjusting screws
under glass top, we made corrections as we added more fuel if I remember
correctly we went up in 10 litre jumps, when I got to 60 litres gauge we
checked and we reading correctly, since then I have had to drain tanks a few
times adjusting flapper valves and to stop a small fuel leak every time the
gauges agreed with the amount I drained or replaced and the fuel warning
lights come on when only 10 litres remaining in each tank, just what my book
says.

I have been looking for it in the docs. I have been able to find the
components in the illustrated parts but that's all. Jay

Maybe you guys don't know this yet, but Pilot Journal included in their
March/April 2003 issue a good article with beautiful pictures of CJs. Look
it up at you local Magazine store or at http://www.pilotjournal.com/ for a
free copy.

I don't disagree with you. I do remember the survey coming out last year
and I do remember writing on mine that I would like to see more
articles/photos of our favourite aircraft.
I do think that the WB magazine could cover a much broader variety of
warbirds - its not like you don't have a fantastically rich heritage and
collection of warbirds to choose from in the US, not to mention the rest of
the world, and on top of that, the iron curtain pulling back to allow some
of the less well known aircraft to appear. I also think that re-printing
past articles from other magazines is pretty disappointing for the reader,
especially when there is such a choice of stories available today.
Obviously I have no idea of their budget restraints, but if the WB magazine
was for sale in the shops, I think it would be one of those magazines you
flick through, without parting with money for it, then put it back on the
shelf - and thats not just because I am Scottish!

Janet

Good. I feel better now. However, I still feel the same way about
making statements about a "survey", IF that's what was said. The only
survey that matters is a readers/subscribers survey, and I didn't get
one, did you? Do you think we got on the cover of AOPA Pilot because of
a *survey*? Of course not. It was because the writer pitched the idea
to the editor and the editor went for it, or something along those
lines, NOT because of a "survey". As TC said, they may have done a
survey, but was it NATA or the T-34 Association? Survey - my Chinese
Rondelles...
As for malice v. stupidity, if you say something that is not true to
give credibility to your point (a popular liberal tactic...whoops, there
I go with political commentary, damn, sorry...) it is malice AND
stupidity. Malice because your intent is to deceive, and stupidity
because your tactic will be exposed.
BTW, Craig, I have 2 cases of Tsing Tao waiting for you at Red
Star.....even if you do take shots at my paint schemes.... :)-

Great News! I'll be unable to make Red Star but I'm sure you could buy
it locally at MTW/OSH :)
For publication, I got beaten badly during this year's SNF race by 2
Comanche 400's. On takeoff my rear canopy slid all the way back to the
stops under the "terrific acceleration" and I flew the whole race Open
Cockpit. Still, I bested my 1st year's time and actually beat 1 SF-260,
a tricked out Mooney and one of those Speed Canards plus plenty of spam.
One of these days I'll get a clean run; meanwhile I'm still up for
competition if any of you boys with fancy paint can figure out how to
fly them things at speed.

Thanks Doug will keep the faceplates in mind. A few fellows replied off list there
are adjustments in the fuel transmitters. I have to swap this indicator into
Ron's CJ this week end to verify it is bad to complete the trouble shooting.
Does anyone work these indicators? The circuit appears to be some kind of balanced
bridge. Jay

Today we have flown our yak but when increase the rpm over 80% suddenly lost power.
We have tried again in the ground with the wheels stopped, and everything is right
magnetos and propeller, but if we increase over 80 % the power is lost, seems
that the engine need more gas, probably we have problems in the governor.
Please give any advice or comments.
Berst regards and thank you.

You could be right. You would need to look inside the indicator to tell for sure.

Hi Jesus,
Total loss of power or missing a bit?
I have had the M-14P miss at 80%+ on climb out but
test OK with an ordinary 70% run-up. Found the lower
sparkplug high tension leads with water and oil in
them #5 & #6 (both front and back). Also cleaned the
same plugs and all was well.

Sounds like an induction problem. Check the intake gland nuts and make sure
they are tight. Also check the intake tube collars connected to the
cylinders. Air leaking around either of these two intake points will cause
loss of power at higher rpm/power settings.
Good luck.

Great Carrier episode on Discovery TV last night. Too bad it was narrated by
Martin Sheen, Hollywood's most vocal anti-military mouthpiece. But hey, we
all have bills to pay!
