Unfortunately, it was a static display and not a fly-in, so the opportunity to go was limited. The USAF didn't want more than one of each type but I b.s.ed them into allowing two Yak-52s and two CJ-6s because we needed "mutual support." An An-2 and 2 L-birds joined. We ended up taking down what the base commander called a Communist Air Armada. They gave us 3 rental cars, hotels rooms, meals, and fuel. We partied with the airshow pilots and entered the crud tournament. Got shellacked. They treated us like royalty. The rental cars even had "River Rat" signs on them. It was a great time. The Rat Squadron is cooking out at Moontown next Saturday afternoon in front of Gordy's hangar. Ya'll come. I have a training class and an inspection this coming week which will include Saturday more than likely. If things change, Paula and I will definitely try to be there.
