What type of fire extinguishers are you guys/girls carrying in your birds? And how/where do you mount them? And where did you buy them? Any pics would be helpful.. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Ernie" <ernest.martinez@oracle.com> Well down here in Fl, we tint everything, it really does drop the temps a few degrees. I dont have any tint on mine yet but I do plan on installing tinting on the top 1/3 of the canopy to reduce the amount of direct sunlight from above. I'm was just planning on using the automotive type that you stick on, unless there is a problem using that type of material on plexiglass, I havent really researched it that much. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Mark Schrick" <schrick@pacbell.net> Steve, I doesn't matter if it is CJ6 or Yak 52, it will take 30-40 hours to replace and install all of the glass. Russian and Chinese glass SUCKS!!! Some people supply Tinted glass (Cee Bailey's of Desser Tire is in my oppion the best tinted glass around, ask for Ken Faire) Doug Sapp has CJ6 tinted glass as do a few other suppliers. I have tinted glass in Yak 52 and it makes a big difference on hot days and can still fly at night. The difference is mostly on how CLEAR the glass is with NO WAVES in the glass. It is like looking into clear air. Tinted glass cost around $1000 range and install is the real cost. Not hard just time consuming. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Jim Selby" <jimscjs@mbay.net> Steve On tinted Glass, I've put in 3 Canopies and the tinted is the way to go, but get the Light tint, I have used Light Gray and the light Green, they won't use the dark tints anymore, at night it's difficult to see out of.
