Hey group, Steve Reamer is needing a oil cooler nipple to get his CJ back in the
air. Is anyone out there sitting on a old cooler that has the oil line nipples
still in it? If we cannot locate one his only option will be to have one
machined as I have no stock. I have checked my stock of new coolers and have
found that they come from the factory sans fittings. Any help would be greatly
appreciated as this is the only part he needs to slip the surly bonds of earth.
Always yakin,
Doug Sapp

Hi Doug,
Please let me know what the status of the search for the fitting is.
I must make arrangements to get one machined if you are unable to supply Sean
with the fitting.
If you want to give me the names of potential suppliers I will follow up if that
will save you some leg work.
I am sorry to be a pain about this.I am anxious to be flying my new toy, it has
been at Sean's since May.
Steve

I think it was Terry who asked me for a device to control a camcorder
remotely from the cockpit. Well the thing you want is the RM-95 from Sony
please see below. Terry I got mine from Ebay but I know you can get them
from Sony if you hunt around. They are as rare as rocking horse s&
t but if
you search hard you can find one. They are great they have the LCD display
for tape left etc etc.
Hope this helps
Gus
RM-95 WIRED REMOTE
The RM-95 is a LANC wired remote, similar to the standard IR remote, though
with some other functions too. There was an older version that Sony marketed
to the general public, now discontinued, and I'm told if you call Sony Parts
they will claim the RM-95 hasn't been sold for years. Well, yes and no.
There is a current RM-95, which is intended for sale to service technicians
and not the general public; nevertheless, anyone in the USA can order it,
just go to servicesales.sel.sony.com and enter part # J6082053B. You can
order it online directly through that page. Sorry, no overseas shipping. Fox
International at 800-321-6993 used to carry it, but apparently no more

Are any of those larger fittings compatible with Komatsu 30 degree fittings? One
of the CJs we received had a steel plug for the wing fuel line a friend said
it was a Komatsu fitting. The plug worked fine for running with one wing.

Gus, Terry;
I have a Sony wired remote control for the CCD-V8 series of camcorders. It
is an RM-84. Probably at least 15 years old but never used. Don't know if it
will work with more modern camcorders.
Originally intended to mount it in the Harvard but, like many other
projects, never did. If it is of use make make me an offer.
Walt
