All YAK's have standard metric threads. As to a supply of this in USA, metric screw
co does the panel screws. Certified nuts and bolts you will be able to buy
at your friendly european helicopter distributor. Bolkow for example. German
gliders are also metric and this stuff is aviation grade.
hope that helps.

Yakers,
I am new to the world of metric hardware, and trying to support a Russian
airplane. Where do you get AN/MS quality metric bolts & nuts for use in our
aircraft? I have a control cable change pending and need to replace the
galled & corroded bolts & castle nuts that attach them. Also, what the heck
size/thread pitch are the inspection panel screws? For that matter what
thread pitch do Russians use when building an airplane? Is it specific to
them, or a common metric value? Any help/education would be much
appreciated.
Thanks!

Try http://www.metricscrew-toolco.com/.
The screws on the panels are 4 mm and 5 mm Truss Head, Phillips. Average
length is about 14 mm.

Dean,
While I am not a 52 parts guy I do have a fair selection of the common nuts
and bolts used in the CJ6. I also carry the stainless steel low profile
Phillips head screws for the panels. I have them in both 4 and 5 mm.

Dennis;
Prop retaining nut torque ( CJ6 ) is 50 to 60 Kg/M or 360 to 430 Lb/Ft. You
will find it on pg. 219 in the Service/Mtce. manual

Was introduced to the Aircraft Engine Historical Society up at Reno this year.
Look at their website http://www.enginehistory.org/
TONS of good stuff for round engine fans.

The M14P engine maintenance manual quotes (sic) ...
"When performing prolonged flight under steady conditions at low ambient
temperatures, change over the airscrew from low pitch to high pitch in every
20 to 30 min of flight by varying the speed of rotation within 67 to 55 %
(1950 to 1650 r/min) and then returning it back to the original value to
preclude thickening of oil in the air-screw cylinder. A short-time drop of
engine inlet oil pressure to 2 kgf/cm is tolerable (followed by restoration
for 8 to 11 s)."
Hope this helps - Rob R. (G-YAKX)
