--> Yak-List message posted by: "Mark Jefferies YAK UK Ltd" <mark@yakuk.com> Stan Baranov, I am pleased to here that your well known works has managed to improve its services, I was speaking of former times when we conducted business with Shachty. It was at these times when we delivered a/c for OH that our driver meet with the workers in the "pub" to purchase the spare parts (required for the OH) from workers who had acquired them from wherever. Also we experienced directives signed off and not complied with, and old parts outside of serviceability limits being fitted. In fact one engine was made of at least 4 different engines!! Needless to say it was all out of limits yet had a log book stating 300 hours TTSN. Needles to say we did not get our money back for the engine when we asked. The reason given was we had removed the cylinder to measure it and thus has invoked the guarantee!!! Good luck, I know that the YAK community continues to depend upon individuals like yourself. Mark

    Subject: Aukward air leak
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Jorgen Nielsen" <jorgen.nielsen@mweb.co.za> Hi Group Went to fly my Yak52 today but air was leaking out faster than the compressor could put it back in, so no flying for me. This was after about an 1 1/2 hours of effort to fish out an unknown pair of sunglasses I found when slapping the fuse aft of the cockpit on pre-flight, heard something bouncing around. After much effort and feling like a gynae I managed to get them out. Then on the taxi for fuel the air pressure was going down instead of up. Noticed on previous flights when on the ground the air was not charging up quickly, but no probs in the air. Turns out the leak is in the cavity in the port wing just forward of the flap, with flaps down one can see the pipes carrying air for the brake and the gear mechanism, it must be the gear down pipe that is leaking. Can hear the hissing, but cant find a way of getting to the pipes. The leak must be between the battery box and the attach point or flap, anyone ever have this happen to them, or ideas on how to get to it? Can one draw out all the pipes? Or worst case does it mean taking wing apart? Hoping for ideas! Regads Jorgen

--> Yak-List message posted by: Andrew Dougherty <atdougherty@yahoo.com> Are you sure the problem is in the pipes, I had a leak and isolated it to the up nose gear actuator, I was told that usually the problem is in an actuator, if yours is near the wing root it might be in one of the main gear (port side?), if so you need to remove the actuator, take it apart and replace the seal that is ruptured. Ensure first that the gear is secured down or the plane is jacked up. --- Jorgen Nielsen <jorgen.nielsen@mweb.co.za> wrote: > --> Yak-List message posted by: "Jorgen Nielsen" > <jorgen.nielsen@mweb.co.za> > > Hi Group > > Went to fly my Yak52 today but air was leaking out > faster than the > compressor could put it back in, so no flying for > me. > > This was after about an 1 1/2 hours of effort to > fish out an unknown pair of > sunglasses I found when slapping the fuse aft of the > cockpit on pre-flight, > heard something bouncing around. --> Yak-List message posted by: "PDumoret" <3bar@direct.ca> Hey Gang, Weather is looking good, Skip is/was U/S in Wyoming with a carb problem that "Goldfinger" helped him out with, but sadly, he won't make it so we are going to do refreshers and recommendations and Skip said he would come up later and do the rides and card those folks. As a reminder, the agenda is 0830 Friday 26 formation clinic in Walt's hangar - lunch is catered; Friday PM dinner is no host at the Southwinds and we hope that Doug has a speech on maintenance/parts/reno's/restorations etc - he may ask for some words of wisdom from Walt !!! Saturday 0830 is Peter von Herzig with his clinic on "demystifying spins", which should be neat. Lunch is again catered at the hangar at which we will have Kevin Psutka, CEO of COPA tell us all what wonderful things Ottawa has in store for GA and Warbirds - (can't wait). In between is lots of flying (safe stuff). Yak guys have a discount on gas - just mark Yak thing for $.05 off, and we have special rates at the "Winds" also. Saturday evening is again a BBQ by the Flying Club and Diane at the keys/guitar etc. Will no doubt be a lot better than last year. Lots of guys booked to come with many interesting a A/C - damn, already three Harvards here - the may take over (never). Questions, please call Paul 250-490-0005. Safe trip getting here.

Subject: [Please Read] SPAM Filter Could Be Causing Posting Problems
For Some Members...? --> Yak-List message posted by: Matt Dralle <dralle@matronics.com> Dear Listers, Matronics is now utilizing a SPAM filter appliance to filter out the excessive amounts of inappropriate email that bombards the Email List Forums each day. The filter is reporting that over 66% of the email messages sent to Matronics email destinations are of SPAM content and reviewing the logfiles, it would appear to be true. That is indeed great! While the Lists are enjoying the breath of fresh air afforded by the new appliance, I am suspecting that a few legitimate email List posts are being blocked as too, although I can't confirm this. It is difficult to churn through the logfiles looking though thousands of blocked email messages trying to determine if any legitimate List posts were blocked. If you suspect that your posts are accidently being blocked by the SPAM filter appliance, I have created a new Trouble Report web page that will allow you to report your problems directly to me without having to use email. If the SPAM filter is blocking your email address for some reason, then its likely that I wouldn't be able to receive your direct email regarding difficulty in posting. The web form bypasses the incoming email and directs your message directly to me. Please include as much information as possible regarding the problems you are having including any bounced email or email error messages that you may have received back in regard to your posts to the lists. The more information I have about the email you are sending and what the errors you are receiving, the better chance I'll have in hunting down the problem. The Trouble Report Website URL is: http://www.matronics.com/trouble-report/ I apologize for any inconvenience the SPAM filter may be causing you. I will work toward resolving your issues as quickly as possible.
