Once again, the majority of the folks east of the Mississippi won't be
attending unless we decide to either have an All Red Star-East or a more
centralized US location for the May 19-23 convention. Either that or maybe
start alternating east and west every other year.

I will submit my ignorance for all to see, and look forward to controversy
this may start.
Will Yak 50 wings fit on a Yak 52? I know the flap, and fuel tank issues.
Are the attach points the same or not? Anybody tried it, and know for a
fact, first hand knowledge is a plus.

Is the air compressor pressure lubed from the engine or is it splash lubed. The
IPC shows quite a few needle and ball bearings and the shaft looks hollow. I
am thinking of driving one with an electric motor.

My question is why would you want to? Even if they would fit, the gear on
the 50 is not near as stout as the gear on the 52.

You're probably right. Some differences make things interesting and it
might be boring if they were solved. That sort of thing keeps soap operas
alive, I guess.
And no, I'm not the Roger Baker that you went to school with in West
Covina. I do, however, know where West Covina is. It's where Arnold
Schwarzenegger isn't from. There's an FAA inspector named Roger Baker who
probably is from West Covina.

You're right; they will not resolve their differences here. I doubt they
have any desire too. Other people will read the exchange, make their own
minds up, and act accordingly. This is a very good thing.
I think the Net improves information flow, which is invaluable in
commercial circumstances. I appreciated the exchange very much, and think
it would be extremely harmful to impose some sort of "no confrontational
evidence" rule. That just means people won't be intellectually honest, and
poseurs will get a free pass.
