--> Yak-List message posted by: "Mark Jefferies YAK UK Ltd" <mark@yakuk.com> YAK 50 wings on a 52. Wings will not fit, the 50 is mounted with 20 mm bolts, the 52 with 22mm. The 50 has narrower space between the main lugs. These engineering aspects could be over come but the 50 wings were designed for max T/O of 995 KG's, when all the spar A/D's were done and 935 KG's without. So Even if you make the wings fit there will be no useful load. So its a non starter!! Bye a YAK52 TW now or wait a few more months for a YAK 52TD with completely flush U/c retraction and other refinements. cheers, MJ YAK UK Ltd. Dean Courtney <deancourtney696@hotmail.com> wrote:--> Yak-List message posted by: "Dean Courtney" Yakers, I will submit my ignorance for all to see, and look forward to controversy this may start. Will Yak 50 wings fit on a Yak 52? I know the flap, and fuel tank issues. Are the attach points the same or not? Anybody tried it, and know for a fact, first hand knowledge is a plus. Thanks! Subject: East of the Rockies
    From: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net>
--> Yak-List message posted by: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net> Gang, The success of the All Red Star events is surely something for the whole community to be proud of and want to be a part of. An East Cost All Red Star is something that *should* be a reality. In order to put together something of this magnitude it takes a planning team. Obviously, the first couple of years are the most labor intensive, but it takes literally a couple thousand man hours to put this thing on. Drew, along with myself last year, have done a lot of the "teeth cutting" and the learning curve is therefore greatly reduced for an Eastern All Red Star. That being said we started planning for 2004 the day the 2003 ARS ended. ARS events are not putting together a fly-in, they are closer to putting on an airshow. In fact, that was the goal with ARS West (which is becoming a reality), and needs to be the goal with an ARS East. Jeff Linebaugh has volunteered to head up the effort to establish such an event east of the Rockies. If anyone would be willing to assist Jeff, or can come up with a *dedicated* team, to make this happen, let Drew or myself know. Dennis, alternating East and West coast for the event would be splitting the fun...we want to double it! :) Cheers, Barry Barry Hancock Director of Operations Red Stars, Inc. 949.300.5510 www.allredstar.com "Communism - Lousy Politics, Great Airplanes"

    Subject: Air Leak in wing
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Jorgen Nielsen @ Mweb" <jorgen.nielsen@mweb.co.za> Hi All Seems a message I posted the other day did not make it to the list. Yesterday I pulled the panels covering the wing join to fuse, and around gear. No leaks. After lots of poking around found the leak - one of the pipes carrying air to the gear (must be the gear down pipe) is cracked - the air leaks out with force, I found it by inserting my arm into the wing section through one of the round cut-outs behind the flap (with flap down) and could put a fingertip on the leak. The four pipes enter the wing through a plate that is bolted onto the wing root. Problem as I see it is that the pipes are also supported by clamps inside the wing. Any ideas? Can one draw the pipes out somehow, or worst case (horrors) remove the wing skin? Any advice would be much appreciated. And d**n, there goes my weekend. Jorgen

    Subject: YAK-52 FOR SALE
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Frank Haertlein" <yak52driver@earthlink.net> OK, Boys; I'm selling my YAK-52. After two and a half years restoration effort and six months of flying I need to sell her. She was my first airplane so I cared for her to the utmost. She has about 1200 Hrs on the airframe and 470 on the engine with all original logbooks and maintenance manuals, a brand new Dupont Imron paint job, new Garmin X-ponder with altitude encoding, intercom, Modern Radio, tires, brakes, drums, inner tubes, cockpit glass all around, altimeters, GPS, electric aileron and pitch trim, the air system has been completely rebuilt, new ignition wires, plugs, clean-up kit, new upper and lower cowl, cockpit air release, extra air capacity in the event of main air system pressure loss, Remote activated ELT, new com antenna, rebuilt and rebalanced prop, rebuilt nose gear, rebuilt main gear, rotating beacon, landing light, strobes, position lights, new control fabric, two parachutes, soft/comfortable seat cushions and backings when not doing aerobatics, canopy lock, automotive tow bar, hand tow bar, new elevator cables with roller bearing pulleys, etc. The only thing she really needs is new cowl louvers. I'm asking 80K OBO. If I were to charge for my labor in restoring this airplane I should be asking over 100K!!! She'll have a brand new annual dated the day you take possession of her. Contact me at 760-784-0818 or email to yak52driver@earthlink.net. Here are some pictures http://home.earthlink.net/~yak52driver/1yakpage/my_yak-52_pics.html Best Regards Frank Haertlein.
