The manual mentioned below we have scanned teh pictures and are 50% of teh
way through translation. It will be sold at $120 per copy to cover approx 4
months of evenings for the translator.
I expect it to be ready for Chrissie pressy time!!.
The document gives a lot of info especially on instrument flying along with
all the normal stuff you would expect and aerobatics.
cheers, Mark jefferies.

Let's not get too carried away with magnets~ those of you with the Yak remote
compass system will find yourselves flying in circles if you place any
ferrous material or magnets back in the tail area. The flux valve lives back there,
and is very sensitive, hence the residence so far from other electrical
devices. I believe the only way to go is a cloth or canvas bulkhead wall in that
area. Anything else is just something else to come loose and become a tail
jammer.
Respectfully,
Kevin

That's exactly what the prototype is. It will be installed this week, after
which I'll make it available as a complete kit.

Just back form my 2 weeks flying the B-17 & B-24 and I'm trying to catch up
on my e-mail.
I noted a lot of talk about tires wear and I seem to note how many folks were
relating wear to flight hours. Tire wear is directly relate to takeoffs and
landings plus aircraft operating weight. Case in point on the PAA 747SP which
operated an average of 21 hours per day (2 round trips to Saudi Arabia) would
have about 50 takeoffs and landings between tire changes. This equities to
about 450 hours. The same airplane operating between Miami and NY would do
only about 75 hours.
Another factor is the grass runway. Hard top is VERY hard on rubber and is a
very big factor. On grass one make of tire could extend its life maybe 3 or
4 times.
When we relating tire wear to flight time - are we assuming that each hour
equal to one takeoffs and landing? Most acro pilots do not spend that much time
doing a routine. Say if that routine practice lasted 30 minutes, that would
double the number of takeoffs and landing.
Tire ware is related to cycles. One takeoff and one landing equal one cycle.
Cycles should be the criteria for comparing tire wear.
Just a little info. The tires for the B-24/B-17 cost $2,500 new. $800.
recap. Tubes are $500.00. We change tires about every 350 takeoff and landings.
We averaged 700 flights in just this season.
