Dennis Savarese" After trashing two prototype covers for the most rearward bulkhead in the YAK 52, we have finalized the finished product and am waiting for quantity production/manufacturing costs. I hope to have that information within 10 business days, after which complete installation kits will be available. Stay tuned. Let me re-emphasize that all warbird drivers are invited...Red/Blue, formation qualified or not. We're all in this to have fun, fly, and hang out for a fun weekend. If you're unsure wether or not it would be worth it for you to come, just email me directly and I'll convince you! :) Most of the folks interested already have their FAST wingman rating, which required for the more advanced (tactical) formation concepts that lead into basic ACM. For those folks that are interested and motivated to get their FAST training completed, the Riverside CAF is holding their annual TRARON clinic the last weekend in January. This is usually an excellent clinic. For the Feb. event in PSP we will try to organize check rides for those that come with recommendations, and there will be opportunities to fly formation. A date has not been set yet, but I'm hoping we will have a stand alone, dedicated FAST clinic in the region at some point in 2004. OK, for this event the next thing I need to to gauge your interest in the following areas. What this is all leading towards is an Air War Simulation, similar to Red Flag. It will take time to get to that point, but we need to take it a step at a time. Please give a "Y" if interested, a "N" if not interested, and a "U" if undecided and you need more information. Keep in mind that the safety pilot (military background) to wanna-be-fighter pilot ratio will be 1:1...you will not fly alone in these areas at this event. Flying: Tactical Formation/ACM - Low Level flying/navigation - Mountain flying/threat avoidance - Food for Saturday and Sunday (vote for one of the following): Catered lunches - Sack lunches - Friday's lunch will be at Borrego Springs airport... GIB's: Bringing wife/GIB/SO: Hotels (understand it is the high season in PSP rates start at $70/night): Luxury- Nice- Roach motel- Don't care- That's it. Once I have this information I'll produce a tentative schedule and firm up the dates.
