Fellow YAK fliers.
Finally we have been able to complete the translated DOSAAF flight manual for the
YAK 52, its consists of 110 pages with colour pictures and descriptions for
ever phase of flight from pre flight, circuits, aerobatics, formation flying
and instrument flying.
I have put some example pages on my web site showing the complete index. http://www.yakuk.com/DOSAAF.HTM the page is about 500 kbs. The CD is in adobe format.
It really is a "must have" document for any YAK pilot, you really will learn something
from it even the "advanced" owner will be intrigued as to how the Russian
military works in the mid 80's
Best regards

A nice quite Saturday.
Bill Mills and I formatted down to X49 (South Lakeland) 92nm south west of
us. It's just inside the control zone of LAL. We went to show our colors to
the locals and hod knob with Craig Payne at little fly-in they were having
there. Not many airplanes BUT the pancake breakfast tasted fine and lunch of hot
dogs and chili was worth the trip. We got a lot of questions about airplanes
and met a bunch of old time EAAers who had started the original Sun & Fun
fly-in before it went commercial. Neat folks.
I think the weather turn off a number of other aircraft showing up. There
was a high dark overcast. However visibility was over 25-30 miles. The air was
dead smooth. Not er a ripple. About the time we left there was a very lite
drizzle, but we went farther north that disappeard.
Just a nice quite, nice, laid back day.
