--> Yak-List message posted by: RANDAIRETV@aol.com EWOK HERE, SOME OF YOU GUYS KNOW ME AND SOME DON'T. Name is Randy Hatchell of Timmonsville SC. Resurrected TWO CJ-6's back in 1992-93. Both painted in Corsair colors as I am a US NAVY man.( I also have a 1942 NA SNJ-5 ) Jim Plumlee owns one and I still own the other... I am new to the list but would like to comment on what I just read.. If one of you guys took off from a maint. facility and didn't check your aircraft over REALLY GOOD shame on you ... It is your life in that seat and not the mechanics..!!!! Maybe he was unfamiliar with that type of pin. Who knows... As an A&P and An IA I still get the pilots to check behind my work... We all overlook things for all kinds of reasons.. Keep in mind It is " ULTIMATELY up to US..." (the PILOTS).. EWOK

I quit the VAC awhile ago because of the politics and only they worring about monies to build the museum... They will reluctantly let you fly but only at your EXPENSE ... It can be fun only if you want to gather with your friends... EWOK

--> Yak-List message posted by: "Ernie" <ernest.martinez@oracle.com> Hey guys and gals, just got back from the CJAA annual convention at Eglin AFB today, ran into good ole Liz Rizzo, both she and I got to fly the F-16 SIM last night for a few hours, I personally splashed 3 Mig 21's with Guns :) Also the nice F-16 Test Pilot that let me fly the SIM also gave me the straight skinny on what happened during the F-16 crash thats people have been rumoring about all week, since the guy is his friend. Firstly the pics are real, secondly he did not get transfered to the Pentagon, he is now flying a solo F-16 demo out of Nellis AFB. Also the cause was due to a x-wind taking him over show center and towards the crowd, while trying to correct for this while inverted he didnt hold enough forward stick causing him to lose altitude over the top. Had a blast, found out how the Eagle and Viper drivers party, now know how to point correctly in the O Club, drank way too much Gerimia Weed, learned how to play CRUD and finaly got a call sign. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Schlafly Fred" <fschlafly@sprynet.com> Shame you guys had a bad experience with VAC. I have been a member for a number of years and went through one of their FAST clinics some time back. Was treated very well at the clinic even though they didn't know me. Also, have always been treated first class at their annual show. They do take good care of their members. Have you voiced your concerns with them? Subject: Formation Flying Northeast Region Feb 27-29th
--> Yak-List message posted by: Yak52w@aol.com The Northeast Region of Redstar Pilots is planning a formation clinic and Fly in at Flying W Airport (N14) in Lumberton, NJ on Feb. 27-28-29. Dear Fellow Formation Pilot: For several months the local group of REDSTAR pilots in Southern New Jersey have been discussing an informal Formation Training Clinic and Formation practice for February 2004. With the effort of a small core group we have scheduled the first of what may evolve into many events to be held at Flying W (N14) in Lumberton, NJ. Your participation is invited. Tentative Schedule: Friday 27th Registration & Hotel Check-in w/ Afternoon Formation Flying Sat 28th 0630 Briefing first flight w/ 07:30 takeoff w/ several 2-=BD hr flight & debrief Sunday 29th Same Schedule (for those who are still standing after Sat night) The aggressive schedule enclosed is dependent on the weather and the experience level of the attendees. Several types of sorties will be arranged based on the number of pilots, GIBs, and the number of qualified instructors who attend. Our objective is to safely have some fun while maintaining or further developing our formation flying skills. We all need a good workout after this winters weather! Please contact me prior to your arrival so that we may better organize the format and flights. To effectively plan the weekend your early registration is appreciated. We may have to limit the number of new Trainee participants based on the number of qualified instructors. Also, we would like everyone to attend the Formation Clinic Training Lecture before flying with the group. If you can contact a qualified formation instructor and encourage his participation it would be a big help to the success of the weekend. Let me know if someone in your area should be sent this email. To Pre-register, ask a question or volunteer to help Tim Stevens may be reached several ways: Most effectively by email at yak52w@aol.com Days 856-222-1000 x103 Evenings 856-753-4030 Fax 856-222-9855 Schedule or Operations Questions call the EVENT ORGANIZER Marty Sheehan 856-979-4440 or email Marty at martinsh@aol.com Please make separate Flying W Hotel Reservations directly at 609-267-7673.
