I'm breaking off the glass portion and soldering in the diodes. They take tens of years to burn out. They may just outlast your lifetime. So, to answer your question, it takes one to think of the idea for a new light bulb, another to actually build the product and make it work and one to sell it to those who want to benefit from this promising new product :) I'll let the list know how it turns out. I could use the backing plate center section. Walt Fricke is "wintering" down there for a month, so I stopped by and picked him up. After a short visit to the air museum to grease the wheel with there management, we went down to Thermal to meet with Larry Gaylor who will be letting us use his hangar facility and ramp space next weekend - if you're ever in the PSP area, stop by Larry's hangar at TRM and say hi...a nicer guy you will not find, young Jedi. About a half an hour after arriving and checking out the T-28's and L-39's that were there *this* weekend for a fly-in that Larry puts on every year, we hear a turbo prop coming down the taxi way and Larry hussles outside...one of the T-28 guys sarchastically says "the maintenance crew is here!"...as I make it out the hangar door I see Larry marshalling a King Air 350 onto his ramp. That guy wasn't kidding! One of the T-28's that I guy just recently purchased was having a gear indication problem and made a phone call to the outfit that he bought it from...they put 2 mechanics on a turbo prop and flew the 200 miles with a new micro-switch part in hand. Two hours later it was fixed and he was flying. My only remark to Walt was, "that's the difference between these guys and us." Walt's response, was "yeah, our guys would have shown up in a Studebaker!" LOL! One T-28 nose gear micro switch $150 King Air round trip fuel bill and 2 mechanics x2 hrs to replace it. $500 Being able to go flying again with your buddies....priceless. There are some things money just can't buy, but not many when you can afford same day express maintenance on a T-28! ;) Barry
