Jay Land got in Thurs. afternoon and he and I got in a few two ship flights Thurs. afternoon and Fri. morning, had great time. Join ups, station keeping, cross unders looked great. Craig Payne got in around Fri. noon and we did some three-ship, we found we weren't as far along as we thought we were. (Hmm.#3 ain't as easy as #2). Jim Plumlee got in Fri. night. Jim's buddy Brian Walsh (F-16 driver out of Shaw AFB) got in Fri. night also. Large amounts of the local homebrew were consumed, I think I got home around 0200 Sat morning. The weather was bad Sat. morning (luckily) and Craig held a maintenance class on M14P's in the hanger. Sat. afternoon the weather cleared and we put up some 4-ship's. (Hmm.just when you think you've got #2 down pat they put you in #4..dang.) Smooth air made for a great 4-ship Sunday morning. Many thanks to Craig Payne, we would not have learned anywhere near as much without him there. Hope to see y'all at S&F. Thanks to Shane for setting it all up and to Craig for grilling us. Aiken's a great airport for a fly in, so let's do it again in the future. Give him a call. I think he also has Yak 52 models available. ******************************************************************** Mark Schrick 966 Wallace Drive San Jose, Ca 95120-1848 Hm/Fax 408-323-5150 Cell 408-391-6664 Email schrick@pacbell.net -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Jon Boede Subject: Yak-List: CJ models --> Yak-List message posted by: "Jon Boede" Anybody have a source for a CJ-6A model about 8-10" in size, other than one of the custom wooden model places that charges $300 for them? People who don't say I have a temper. I lost mine reading the links Terry sent (along with my lunch.) I contacted this fine organization and told them that I am a concerned citizen (veeeeery true!) living in the Los Angeles area and to include me in their news and updates. While I have a couple ideas on how to squash them (anyone want to join me?) I think I am just going to float around the inside of this group for a little while and see how they work. I'll report any significant planning on their part back to the List. I will see if they are a credible threat or if they are just making, um, noise. Similarly, the stock 285 gills would fit on the M-14 installation, using Yak-52 screw head rods (a couple of my original 'stock' gills are on my M-14 installation and work just as they should).
