--> Yak-List message posted by: "Widiker, John D" <john.widiker@eds.com> I saw a long and drawn out unsubscribe message here a while back, "connect the red tab to the back of the interplanetary inertial ball switch while pressing the activate button" type of thing. I need it for another list that has this as a topic right now. Anyone happen to have a copy, I searched the archive but came up empty handed. Thanks

With both instruments unhooked the inverter spins up showing full load amps on dash then kick breaker after reaching full RPMS. I either need suggestion to fix or someone to repair or another unit. This is in a 1989 YAK 52. Thanks Jim Enkema

--> Yak-List message posted by: KevLCo@aol.com Ok, I was well intentioned. I wanted to do a good job, and I did, honest. My mission, as set forth by my employer, was to clean up our prop. No more oil streaks, leaks or grease streaks. We run a clean operation. So off to the -52 I went, new seals in hand for both dome and blades. There was a little head scratching to get to the blade seals ~ thanks to all who suffered my phone calls and questions. Back together it all went with no parts left over. And I even put the airplane on jacks to level the prop hub and set PERFECT blade angles (I even used a brand new digital smartlevel, Dennis!). I was rather proud of myself, until the boss fired it up and the engine wanted desparately to seperate itself from the engine mounts. I now realize I put the blades at a better condition than it was prior to the project, and now the weights need to be pulled and a dynamic balance accomplished. Any one have a contact for this near our fair town of Las Vegas? The local guy here that does the spam cans says he can't make his equipment work on the Yak. He's tried, but something about the radial/gearbox just doesn't work for him. Thanks, Kevin N152YK Yak-52

--> Yak-List message posted by: "Walt Lannon" <lannon@look.ca> Kevin; A dynamic balance probably will not cure the problem. If I read your message correctly you removed the balance weight attachment plates from the blades, (with the weights attached?). In either case the location of the weight is critical for both horizontal and vertical static balance. Unless you returned the weight to the exact location, both longitudinally and radially, the static balance is lost. The prop should be in static balance prior to being fine tuned with a dynamic balance. Do all 52's have spinners? That is a necessity for dynamic balancing as the spinner bulkhead provides the location for corrective weight. How close did you get the blade angles? The typical maximum allowable between blades is 10 minutes. My target is always less than 3 mins. using an antique propellor protractor that with careful use will guarantee <6 mins. I don't know anything about the smart level but it would have to provide equal accuracy to be of any value. --> Yak-List message posted by: "PEYRACHE Patrick" <Patrick.PEYRACHE@cote-azur.cci.fr> Good morning to all listers, I have been reading messages for a few years ... learning and dreaming of my (future) Yak ! Now I have bought a Yak 18A, and have a question about covering it: What do you think are the advantages / drawbacks of Dacron / Ceconite covering (is there a difference between the 2 ?) and linen covering, regarding: - Ease to install - Life (how long would each last, considering the plane is hangarerd) - Strenght - Resistance to degradations (oil, sun's UV...) - Ease to repare (How do you do it ?) Do they need to be tested form time to time ? How ? Any need for a specific tool ? I'm glad to have fulfill my kid's dream... and thank you all in advance for your answers ! Sincerely ! Patrick PEYRACHE.

Subject: Need the complex unsubscribe message
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Jim Ivey" <jim@jimivey.com> John: I haven't seen the unsubscribe post you talk about. However, I would present this version of an unsubscribe response as written by Mr. Dan McNeill (Placerville, CA) on the Luscombe list. Just change the one sentence about the Luscombe and Tri-Pacer to the applicable type for your other list. "Please remove me from your list..." The fog thickened noticeably as the newcomer hurried towards his destination. This part of the city was not a place to tarry. Thieves and whores were the only permanent residents here. Even the cops rolled through these streets with a nervousness and an edge to their normal macho banter. Trouble and misery closed around everyone who ventured into this pustule of urban blight like a leech on a warm vein. "Damn!", he hissed under his breath as he stepped on something soft that squealed and skittered off into the darkness and dankness of the mist. It can't be much farther he thought. It mustn't be much farther. The sickly yellow flicker of light from a street lamp shone dimly through the fog as he quickened his pace. There it was. The doorway seemed to be just blackness without definition. As he got closer, two winos eyed him suspiciously through bloodshot and yellowed eyes. He hustled past them, their breath leaving a rank scent that lingered on his clothes. The door pushed inward and the newcomer was inside. The room was smoky and dim. The bar stank of liquor and broken dreams. Several tables decorated the periphery. The man he had come to see was sitting at one of those tables and beckoned him over to sit. The man was darkly clothed and utterly shapeless. He might have been slim or he might have weighed three hundred pounds. His shape was indecipherable. The dark mans eyes were gazing down at the dirty glass in his hand, half filled with cheap whiskey. "What is it you want of me?", the dark man asked, not lifting his eyes from the glass. His voice rumbled deep in his belly like a toad. "I need you to tell me how to unsubscribe", said the newcomer in as even a tone as he could muster. The dark man looked up from his glass slowly to gaze at the newcomer. His eyes were a pale watery blue. And his gaze lingered on the newcomer. "You wish to unsubscribe?", he said, with a hint of amusement in his voice but no trace of a smile on his thick pasty lips. "You come to me with a need to unsubscribe?", he said, his voice getting louder now and any hint of amusement gone. He sucked in his breath and hissed through his teeth, "Why? Tell me why it is that you wish to unsubscribe." The newcomer felt fear now creeping up his spine. "I don't have the time to sort through all the posts", he mumbled. The dark man sat unmoved, his eyes stared at the newcomer without emotion. His eyes were cold and amphibian. "And I sold the Luscombe and bought a Tri-Pacer", added the newcomer. He realized in a heart beat that he should not have said that. The dark man had him by the throat with a quickness that didn't seem natural. And the dark man squeezed that throat as the newcomer wriggled and squirmed in a voiceless scream. The dark man pulled the newcomers face to his own until they nearly touched noses. He breathed his fetid breath on the newcomer and a trickle of drool escaped his mouth to plop on the table between them. "Go!", he rumbled. "Go now you fool!", he bellowed. "Run if you can. It shall do you no good! Once you have subscribed, all hope of ever unsubscribing is gone! We will find you. Your email is now ours to control. Your email box will fill to bursting with our messages. And there is no hope for you. There is no good deed you can do to change what you have done. The List will not be denied!" And with that he released the newcomer who reeled and staggered towards the door. The dark man began to laugh, a low rumbling laugh that grew louder. The newcomer fled up the streets as he had come with the croaking bellowing laughter chasing him. He was doomed and he knew it. The dark man sat back at the table in the dimly lit bar and sipped at his drink. "I guess I could have just told him to follow the directions at the end of each post", he muttered under his breath. No, he smiled to himself. That would have been too easy. Still chuckling to himself, he pulled from his coat pocket the magazine he had been reading before the newcomer interrupted him. He never missed a single word of each and every issue of Martha Stewart Living... Anonymous

In addition to the adapter, you'd have to buy a scott 3200 tailwheel assembly. Thanks, Wes -- "The Lord loves a working man, don't trust Whitey, see a doctor and get rid of it." (Navin R. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Tom Johnson" <tjohnson@cannonaviation.com> I can't begin to explain how disappointed I am with the latest Safety article in March 2004 EAA Warbirds. You reprinted a Final NTSB report on Yak 52 accident in January of 2003. No other analysis or recommendations or opinions or comments??? You could have called me, I own a Yak 52 , and provide insurance for most of the Yak52s in the country. I would have told you about the FOD protection Cover most people have installed. The Russian tricks to verify the airplane is clean. Our initiative to get pilots to check their airplanes and take pro-active measures to eliminate the problem. Instead there was just a simple NTSB report with no actual research into the problem or recommendations. You missed a fine opportunity educate the community about these great airplanes. You also published a picture of a formation flight and the pilot is not even facing the photo ship. You've really made all Yak52 pilots look bad. We in the Yak community are very disappointed about this unfortunate article. I, for one, expected more. ********************************** Thomas Johnson Cannon Aviation Insurance 1983 Yak 52 Tel: 800-851-2997 Fax: 480-951-1455 Cell: 602-628-2701 E: tjohnson@cannonaviation.com
