To all, Its been two and a half years since I have flown my CJ. But I am
getting close
maybe next month? I have some questions on operating air speeds, I have three
different check lists and they do not agree on all speeds.
I would like to know what speeds most of the group use's. Please respond on
the
list or directly. The below is a summary of my three check list.
Kph / Kts
Vso (stall gear flaps down) 108 / 58
Vs1 (stall clean) 112 / 60
Vfe (max flap extension) 198 / 107
Vlo (max gear down) 240 / 130
Va (Maneuvering) 275 / 148
Vd (max dive) 370 / 200
Vne ? / ?
Gear & Flaps up 170 / 92
T.O. & Landing 115 / 62
Rotate 110 / 60
Climb 160 / 90
All responses will be appreciated!
Thank You

Subject: | Housai Intake Breather |

1) Is there some type of filter device being utilized in the field to
keep foreign matter (dirt) from entering the front crankcase breather
tube of a Housai?
2) I am looking for a set of left and right fairings that cover the
center section and outer wing panels of a CJ6. If I can be so picky,
would like them in very good to excellent condition.
3) Got my engine started for the first time this week. Later did a
short, five minute taxi test. Air pressure started at 50 kg/cm2 and
finished at 40. Granted, it does not taxi exactly like my Grumman,
however, I didn't think I was over controlling that much with the
brakes. The air system is very tight after an extensive restoration.
Before I pull the compressor (factory overhauled) for a look, is this
drop kinda normal for a longer taxi?
Thanks

Subject: Current surging Yak 52
Hi there All
Yak 52. Current surging leading to the destruction of the voltmeter
recent problem..... During flight there is some kind of current surge which leads
to the destruction of the Press to test voltmeter. The instrument has been
replaced with a new unit and on the next flight the new voltmeter was similarly
destroyed....
Has anybody seen this problem before and is there a recommended fix.
Any assist will be appreciated

I don't know if it was the largest aircraft but as I recall the "Four Horsemen"
flew C-130s in the early days and performed a diamond take-off. The funny
thing is that they were TAC not MAC.

I find myself regularly wishing for a complete set of the special tools
for the Yak/CJ. In particular the intake/exhaust wrenches, the valve
tools, etc.
If anybody has a set for sale, please contact me - jon@email.net
Thanks,
Jon
