Ernie,
No you don't have to remove the ring, the vane you describe is the only one
of all of them that is removable and simply snaps in and out for easy access
to the prop gov. I have all the vanes in stock, I'll get one coming your
way tomorrow via std UPS. Let me know before 10 am PST if you want it Fed Ex
or faster UPS.
Set of parts books also?? They list all the part numbers for all your
thingies! :>)
Short of the little bit of "vane wisdom" above this is mostly commerce and
most likely should be handled off list.
Always Yakin,
Doug Sapp

Sorry Doug, I dont have a parts manual it appears.
But you described it beautifully, I guess I need the entire vane then, its a
removeable vane (has the spring loaded lever at the top). Do I have to
remove the ring, to replace the vane or can it be done with the ring in
place? I'd hate to have to remove the prop to replace this.

Unfortunately at the same time is SERFI, the EAA's SouthEast Regional Fly-In
at Evergreen, Alabama. Last year SERFI had over 650 airplanes fly-in for
the 3 day event. Tough choice.

I believe we will have a good number of people wanting to take advantage of
this deal As the rooms may be limited, I will take names on a first come
basis.

Cool, but who is that guy in the middle of the group shot wearing a
khaki flight suit? That couldn't be Pappy with a *new* flight suit? I
think we need a special retirement ceremony.....

Don't confuse "certified" and "type certificated". You can certify the
plane in the experimental/exhibition cateogry and fly it. You can't carry
passengers or cargo for hire, of course, but you can fly it.
