One down, one to go, eh? Gotta love that nuclear blackmail. Speaking of that, can anyone think of a use for a nuclear weapon except as a weapon of terror? I always thought that the phrase, "surgical nuclear strike," was rather oxymoronic. I wonder if a CJ6A could be turned into a "delivery vehicle". Oh, now I am scaring myself. > Frank > N9110M > > PS, You gotta love those Chinese. Can you imagine islamic sleeper cells > in that country? They'd have em' rounded up and eliminated in no time. It would be rather tough to do, wouldn't it? OTOH terrorism wears all faces. I suspect they have their own problems in that area. I just think they do a better job of ensuring no one ever hears about it. > I hear they make great airplanes too! :) Seem to. I never saw any reason to complain. > hehehehehe (Brian?) Among the many peaceful purposes for nuclear bombs proposed were a new Atlantic/Pacific channel through Mexico, liberating gas and oil from low yeild geological formations, shaking ripe fruit off of the trees to reduce the labor of picking it. I'm not too sure that last one was a formal proposal. ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 08:44:49 AM PST US From: "Mark Jefferies YAK UK Ltd" "YAK USA LIST" Subject: Yak-List: oloe adapter --> Yak-List message posted by: "Mark Jefferies YAK UK Ltd" not sure who asked me but I now have the oleo inflation adapter in stock also the ground air adapters. According to www.sinodefence.com/airforce/aircraft/trainer/cj6.asp Althought many people regard it as a variant of the Soviet Yak-18A, the CJ-6 is acturally a purely indigenous design. Most notable, it has an amluminium alloy structure instead of the steel tube structure of the Yak design. The CJ-6A is not a copy of the Yak-18A. IF SITE IS RIGHT, then it means we've been spelling aluminum WRONG all these years too! :P tc ________________________________ Message 8 _____________________________________ Time: 03:37:07 PM PST US From: "Bob Monzo" Subject: Yak-List: Yak-52 Low Level Top End Speed --> Yak-List message posted by: "Bob Monzo" Craig: Per your request, I did a low level high power run in an attempt to arrive at some numbers for you. I set the prop at 90% with full throttle which indicated a manifold pressure of 820 mmHg. I was at an indicated altitude of 2500 msl with a pressure altitude of 2300 msl and a temperature of 5C for a density altitude of 1630 msl. Flying the four cardinal headings, IAS was 145 kts. with a GPS TAS calculated at 152 kts. per the applet I used. This was with a completely stock 700+ hr. 1996 Yak-52 with the 360 hp engine and two blade Russian paddle propeller. Weight was around 200 lbs. under gross. Just by doing a quick calculation of the time it took for the fuel indicator to click down at its 5 liter increments, the fuel burn was somewhere in the range of 90 liters per hour. Hope this helps. Thx. I just connected the dots. ________________________________ Message 12 ____________________________________ Time: 06:16:09 PM PST US From: "Ron Davis" Subject: Re: Yak-List: Sino Defense Weekly and Goolsby --> Yak-List message posted by: "Ron Davis" If the Brits are right, we've been mis-pronouncing wrong too.
