Hi All,
I am going to change the gear flex lines on my CJ and reuse the
original Chinese end fittings.
I know several of you have done this in the past and I need some advise.
What I need to know is what type of hose you used I.e.. brand name or
part number and what size did you use? I.D. an O.D.
Thanks,

Yakker's,
I'll be at the inaugural Mid-Atlantic EAA Fly-in this
weekend, May 15-16 at Lumberton NC (LBT). If you are in the
locale drop in and say hello and help support a new regional
event. I won't be bringing the CJ; too much avgas for May's
budget.

For AC financing use First National Bank Midwest. They are out of Iowa, and
are a small aggressive lender, with people that know the experimental
exhibition category, and pilot/ AC owners on staff.

Just had my Russian seat pack repacked. The shute packer removed the
automatic opening device saying there was an AD against it. Also looks
like he packed them too thick and now it won't fit the seat pan. Makes
me think this guy don't know what he's doing. Maybe I'm
wrong.......anybody know if there is, in fact, an AD against the
automatic opening device in the Russian shutes?
Also, is there going to be a shute packer at Red Stars?

John;
Unless your trim tab is significantly different than most other YAK-52's
it can't delaminate because it is a one piece metal unit. Most likely
what you are seeing is the stits covering of the rudder peeling off the
tab. You could glue it back down with some JB weld (available at your
local car parts store).

to finish my airplane first!) to start the airshow circuit and is wanting
to sell off his stash of Yak parts.
He has the following for sale....and he is "motivated" to sell!
Yak 52 Nosewheel tire New
Yak 52 Nosewheel tire tube new
Yak 52 Nosewheel used
Yak 52 Nosewheel tire used mounted on above (some good life left)
Yak 52 Original Russian radios and inverters used
Yak 52 Manual Starter Kick Valve
Yak 52 Gill shutters used
M14P Russian Generator and Voltage Regulator (approximately 50 hours TT)
M14P Clean Kit (Valve cover drain kit)
Yak 55 Main wheels (approximately 50 hours TT)
Yak 55 Brake assemblies (approximately 50 hours TT)
Yak 55 Tires used (tread gone but recap-able)
He is in the process of packing now, so this stuff needs to go fast.

since there is no regulator involved what is the procedure to fill the
air system on the ground using this set up ????

Fill the scuba tank, attach the adapter to the bottle, the other end to the
airplane. Slowly open the scuba bottle until you hear the air filling the
system. Monitor the air pressure gauge until it hits 50 bar (or you hear the
safety valve start to fart) turn off the bottle. The CJ doesn't have a
filler line relief system, so the hose to the bottle will still have high
pressure (about 750 PSI), screw off the Schrader adapter slowly until you
hear the air escape, then let the pressure bleed down, then you can safely
remove the fitting from the plane.

Walt:
Attach the tank adapter to the tank, screw the schrader valve into the air
fill port located behind the small access panel on the fuselage just aft of
the trailing edge of the wing. The shrader valve may have a nut on it to
close off air flow. If this is so, loosen the nut. With the main air valve
open, slowly open the valve on the tank/adapter. You will hear the air
flowing into the system. once the system is filled you will hear the
clatter of the overflow valve located on the firewall.
Close the main air valve in the front cockpit. Close the scuba/adapter
valve and disconnect the shrader valve from the input connection. don't
forget to close the safety nut on the a/c scharder valve if you have one.

1. Attach the transfiller hose from the SCUBA bottle to the fill port on the airplane.
2. Turn on the aircraft main air valve.
3. *Slowly* open the valve on the SCUBA tank. You should hear air going into
the system.
4. When you hear the pressure regulator pop-off valve on the firewall open, the
system is full and you can turn off the air from the SCUBA tank.
Be careful not to open the valve on the SCUBA tank too quickly or too much. If
you do the pop-off valve will open right away before the system has been refilled.

Hello Mr. Stroud,
Many homebuilders only need the airsystem for
starting, hence a less complex system. I know Steve
Culp (http://www.culpsspecialties.com/) builds a
complete system that bolts to the firewall in small
footprint fashion. Pop him a call or email for a
start.
Cheers,

Does anyone use a Corporation or LLC to hold a CJ or YAK? I have just been told
there is a way to use a corporation to hold an aircraft then you sell the corporation
