did he have the manual? We went to the trouble of translating this so these type of problems dont happen, www.yakuk.com/manuals.asp has the details.

Yaksters
Just had my Russian seat pack repacked. The shute packer removed the
automatic opening device saying there was an AD against it. Also looks
like he packed them too thick and now it won't fit the seat pan. Makes
me think this guy don't know what he's doing. Maybe I'm
wrong.......anybody know if there is, in fact, an AD against the
automatic opening device in the Russian shutes?
Also, is there going to be a shute packer at Red Stars?
Thanks in advance

I have M14PF with MTV9-260 prop. I had the same prop on M14P with Russian
flange last year and we balance it to .02IPS with about 35g of weight. On my
M14PF engine the Chadwick is asking for 90g of weight and the guy who tried to
balance it refused to use that much weight. He recomends taking the prop off and
sending it for static balancing first. From your experience with M14s, how
much weight is too much?
To me the engine feels normal, but his equipement reads .45IPS. I think I
should feel the diference in the cocpit between .02 and .45IPS.

Thanks to Doug Robertson for the Yak 52 panel...
I used the instruments sizes to extrapolate the correct dimensions, pretty
close I think anyway, and posted a few different panels to the site...
Let me know what you all think...

Does anyone have any dimensionally correct line drawing of the YAK 52
panels?
I own and manage the ePanel Builder - www.epanelbuilder.com, and would like
to add them for trying out new panels...
Thanks!

Yep,
It had brake fade. It was Dave Suttons one and he has a plan to make the
brakes a bit better. Apparently this is a common thing.

--> Yak-List message posted by: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net>
Master Rigger Allen Silver will again be at ARS, this year packing
'chutes Thursday through Saturday. This is in addition to the
wonderful emergency egress presentation and parachute maintenance
seminar he will give on Saturday. Also, this year he is adding
emergency survival to his presentation.
Just in case you missed it, here are the other confirmed
events/presentations/activities at ARS.
40+ aircraft will fly including:
-MiG-21
-Polikarpov I-16
-Eddie Andreini's Yak-9's (yes, he has two and both will be there.
Jealous? I am!)
-Bill Shepard and Kent Carlomagno's Yak-11's
-Numerous L-jets
-Yak-50, serial #1
-and even my airplane. I know, I know, you'll believe it when you see
it! :)
-Steve Ritchie has confirmed for the Saturday night Awards Banquet
-Robert L. Shaw, Author of "Fighter Tactics" returns
-Thousands of dollars to be auctioned and raffled away from various
sponsors like Aircraft Spruce, Oregon Aero, Desser Tire, ADC Oil
Filter, and many more.
-Free Aeroshell oil
-Natasha WILL be there
-Many national aviation media outlets
-One high profile national cable outlet
-In house film crew to produce DVD of event
-Jim Fackler will be there balancing props
-Vladimir Yastremski, Bill Blackwell, and Steve Kalmar will be
available for maintenance help and give airframe and powerplant
presentations.
-Oleg Fedorov is available for spin/UAR/aerobatic training in prop
aircraft...only a few slots left tho', so call me now if you are
interested.
-American Propeller will be there giving a prop maintenance
seminar...and they're supplying us with killer trophies again this
year.
You can still be a part of All Red Star 2004 "A Unique Aviation Event".
Simply call me and tell me when your coming, and we'll make sure to
take care of you. You can also fly in anytime. And tell a friend,
'cuz our advertising budget stinks! :)
Happy flying,
Barry
