Quick question for the experts,
Is the Russian tach generator for the M14 compatible with the Chineese RPM
gauge?

A lot of people asked me about the RPA online Store, so here is an update:
Yesterday the final paperwork was accepted by the credit card company that will
handle our online transactions, so the RPA online store is in it's final stages
for opening. We estimate it will open within this month.

Vern Hupp was one of the most engaging, warm hearted fellows I've ever had
the good fortune to know. He was also an enthusiastic All Red Star's
participant, and great fun to have around. Does anyone have a mailing address for
his
wife and family? ...Blitz

Gang,
I have received several inquiries about my solid state inverters. They
are Czech built, weigh about 6 oz., and are about the size of the palm
of your hand. They power 3 1/8" Czech gyros that are standard on older
Zlins. This set up is really only an option if you are redesigning
your instrument panel, AND you have 4-6 months to wait for equipment.
Had I to do it over again, I would go with the Dynon EFIS...a LOT more
information/reliability for just a little more money. I went the route
I did because Dynon was still in development when I made my decision.
However, I only turn on my gyros when necessary. Combine that and the
solid state inverters and the likelihood of a gyro failure in my
lifetime is pretty low. So, I'm still ahead of the game, just not by
as much.
I do like the glass stuff. I think Hal is putting one in his back
seat. If your gyro goes bad, take a look at Dynon, it's not that much
more expensive than a replacement gyro/inverter and it has tons more
functionality and much higher reliability...
FWIW,
Barry

I just checked the event registration for the MTW/OSH event, there are
seven people signed up. That won't make a very impressive display over OSH,
so I will offer this up for you all to contemplate.
I am willing to Airboss an MTW only event at the same time as the
existing one (July 24-28th), the focus of this event is wingman training. I
will need at least three instructors, and two leads to sign up so I can run
a good training week.

Russ,
I know several pilots coming who have not signed up (including myself).
The online registration seems to have been the problem getting folks
going. I will sign up and encourage others to do the same.
Can we do so now and pay when we arrive? I personally don't like
PayPal and will not give them my cc number.

Folks,
Once again, the RPA online registration is open to all members and non
members and does not require online payment - it's a tool for the organizers
planning efforts and helps a great deal.
If you believe you are attending any event listed such as Osh or Ged,
register online and help them out.
Thanks,
Drew

Again, just in case, online registration was changed to help the organizers
and the members; no online payment is required - it voluntary -
Your registration info is e-mailed to the chief organizer to help him
prepare,
Drew

Folks,
The RPA has once again been given a premier warbird RV parking slot next to
our aircraft. Herb and Russ of course should have first call on this, but
we are in need of "vehicle HQ" so if you are interested, please contact Herb
to coordinate (NC RC/Osh Org),
Here is Walts testimony:
Drew. Sorry, but I just traded my MH. I will attest, for anyone who
want't to volunteer their "rig" for this good cause, that it was the
BEST year I ever spent at OSH. Camping right on the WB flight line and
having all your buddies stop by every day for a week was awesome. If
you can't find a volunteer, pass the hat and rent something to park
there for an HQ. (then draw straws for the lucky guy who get's to stay
in it) It's a real perk.
