They are simple and self contained, they require almost no tending, and they can be run from the bridge. Go look at how many people you need to stand watch over a steam turbine plant. As I recall, one of my captain friends told me that standard engineering watch for the big diesel-powered ships is one person. -- Brian Lloyd 6501 Red Hook Plaza brianl@lloyd.com Suite 201 http://www.lloyd.com St. Thomas, VI 00802 +1.340.998.9447 (voice) +1.360.838.9669 (fax) There is a time to laud one's country and a time to protest. Subject: New Rims/wheels
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Frank Haertlein" <yak52driver@earthlink.net> Yaksters; I'm looking for new 8 inch rims/wheels that can be adapted to the 52 main gear. I'm looking to use an 8 inch rim and mound the existing brake drum to it and then fit the whole assembly on the 52 main gear. Anyone have an idea as to which rim/wheel would work for this? Thanks in advance. Frank N911OM YAK-52
