    Subject: Cheap Fuel in Alabama?
--> Yak-List message posted by: "cpayne@joimail.com" <cpayne@joimail.com> I'm planning my trip from the Tampa area up to Northern IL the week before OSH. I usually take one of two routes, depending on the weather. This year's fuel prices are forcing me to route along the cheap fuelups. I can't find many such places near Huntsville. You Moontown River Rats might be able to help, the best I have found in that area is M38. Any suggestions? sure would help. In lieu of that I'll be installing "cruise fairings" to help stretch those dollars. Maybe catch some thermals too. Craig Payne

    Subject: Fuel tank vent problem
--> Yak-List message posted by: YakL1@aol.com Greetings all and Happy Fourth! Went for an Independence Day flight in the CJ. Right fuel cover door departed in flight (at some point). Short 20 min flight otherwise uneventful until I approached the plane with the tug to return it to the hanger and noticed that fuel was leaking, at a rapid rate, from the midportion of the wings towards the front. Removed wing strip cover to find that the rubber connector to one of the vent lines had been blown off the line. Then began looking for the cause, which still eludes me. When I blow air from the underwing vent back thru the system, air exits the uppermost of the two vent lines near the right wing tank, but not the other. The lower of the two vent lines (the one that became separated in flight) is full of fuel. When I secure the left wing tank cover and blow air backward thru the underwing vent, gas pours out of the lower vent line to the right tank. Seems like there's a blockage someplace. Any thoughts on 1) Why losing the gas cap cover would cause this or 2) Where the problem is. Will be consulting our mechanic (Thanks for your help on the Holiday, Jim!!!!!!!!) again on Monday. Thanks in advance. John Zecherle
