And you can keep burying your head in the sand thinking that it only happens to others until it bites you in the ass really, really bad. There was a similar case that was allowed to escalate really bad because people were burying their heads in the sand, somewhere in Europe about 70 years ago... At least from my experience it doesn't and I've tried two different ones. It's just OK with the standard Russian radio. Save yourself the time and trouble and stick with the western/standard headphone jacks and plugs. It is already wired for regular headset plugs . i would just like to make a jumper out of the russion round plug and put standard male ends on it to plug a chinese tk-2 helmet with throat mike in to the yak . The round female plug has four wires , red, yellow , green and white . The standard male plugs have three positions on the mike plug ( ground, middle and forward ) positions. The headphone plug has just two ( ground and one position) . Also does anyone know how well a throat mike works . > > Thanks in advance . > > Chad......... > >

--> Yak-List message posted by: Vectorwarbirds@aol.com Red Star Pilots Just wanted everyone and anyone who might like to attend the Wendover Airfield Utah / Nevada Airshow on Saturday September 18th that we are forming up a group to fly up from Arizona/California and Nevada areas. Have two CJ's and two Yaks in the flight so far. For anyone who doesn't already know the Wendover Airfield was the B-29 atomic training base in WW2 and is one of the best preserved WW2 airbases in the United States. Two great runways and way too much ramp space! Plus some really nice Nevada casinos for great food and rooms. I am working with the airport manager, Jim Peterson, to get as many aircraft to the show as possible and support this great historical piece of, not only aviation history, but American history, yours and mine gang. Jim is working really hard to restore this airbase and he really needs all the support he can get. And I thought that maybe us Red Star guys might be able to lend a hand in some way. We are trying to put together a "Fly for Paint" ride program for people that will donate white paint for the repainting of the really big hangers for a ride around the patch. So maybe some of you guys would be interested in helping out with that. Anyway this airbase could use your support in anyway you can. Think about it, this airbase trained the crews of the Enola Gay and Bocks Car to name the ones we all should know. Where would you and I be today with them? If anyone can help or would like to join us in flying up to the airshow please let me know. I am working on fuel and rooms for anyone who can come so please let me know will ya. And please let anyone you might know about this. Wendover Airfield website: http://www.wendoverairbase.com/ Tally Ho! Gary Bunn Nanchang Driver 928-776-9341 email: vectorwarbirds@aol.com

As Dennis said, the throat mics don't work too well. They can be used but you will not be having conversations that require complete sentences. Subject: Re:
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Richard Basiliere" <BasiliereR@ci.boulder.co.us> Hopefully this will help... 14 CFR 91.303 has subsections of a-f. Only subsection (d) speaks to airways. The others refer to (a) "congested area of a city, town, or settlement" (b) refers to open air assemblies (c) refers to Class B-C-D-E (e) Refers to minimum altitude below 1500'agl, and (f) refers to visibility - no less then 3 miles The Feds have taken umbrage with Akro pilots stating that they were performing akro in "congested areas of..." in violation of 14 CFR 91.303 (d) When presented with this akro pilots have attempted to explain that "congested" means the "yellow" areas depicted on the Sectionals. As I said the DEN FSDO has bought this, no yellow, no problem. Therein lies the similarity - the definition for both Experimental and Aerobatic pilots attempting to do their respective "things" over "congested areas" You (and I) cannot legally fly over the "yellow" in our Experimental/Exhibition a/c and I cannot go vertical over the "yellow" even in a Decathlon or Aerobat. Respectfully, Rick >>> l39parts@hotmail.com 7/22/2004 10:21:15 AM >>> --> Yak-List message posted by: "Ron Davis" <l39parts@hotmail.com> I'm confused. FAR 91.303 (aerobatics) refers to airways.
