--> Yak-List message posted by: FamilyGage@aol.com Ernie, Sorry ole friend, your are wrong. let me share with you from top to bottom: 1. Grand Rapids EFIS 2. Garmin MX-20 MFD 3. Garmin 340 audio panel 4. Garmin 430 5. Garmin SL-40 com 6. Garmin 330 mode S transponder 7. Grand Rapids complete 9 cylinder engine monitor Plane is all electric, but I decided to retain all analog instruments in case of tube failure. Used the TruTrac autopilot with altitude hold and vertical speed set. A custom smoke system controlled by button on stick. Also transponder ident. and frequency change flip-flop, and control wheel steering. All instruments are lighted, with a separate rheostat. The 1 1/4 inch gauges on top of the glare shield are all engine instruments. Voice gear up warning if flaps down and get is up. We really tried to finish this complex job and custom paint before OSH, but as you know, things don't always go as planned. I truly missed seeing all of my RPA friends and flying at MTW

--> Yak-List message posted by: "James Enkema" <lennoxlimited@earthlink.net> I want to put a smoke system in my YAK 52. Is someone out there making a smoke oil tank that will fit neatly behind the rear seat. The avionics tray is empty. I want to fill outside with a cap or a flush door to access fill tube. Am I correct with information that I need to calibrate my pump to 8 gal/min. That seemed a little high so please someone verify for me. I have a tank made from an old freon bottle. Anybody with suggestions I am all ears. Seems like I remember a web site with all sorts of info on smoke systems but I haven't been able to find it again. Second problem: First flight last week in a 1991 YAK 52 I have been doing some work on for the last year. The cylinders all have 70+, fuel pressure is on the high side. All temps are good except CHT and it stays right on the top edge of the green. It doesn't seem to have the same climb performance as my other 1989 YAK 52 on departure. I noticed this plane only turns up about 92% at sea level on a 80 degree day and my other bird pegs the tach. I have a prop book and have checked and both are set correctly and the same. On the plane with the poor performance the stop on the prop govenor at fine pitch is screwed way out. Is there a procedure for setting max prop RPM's. Is there a blower and if so how can I determine that it is working properly? Questions...questions...questions. Thanks Jim Enkema

--> Yak-List message posted by: "Gus Fraser" <fraseg@comcast.net> 8 gal is high unless you want a very dirty underside :) 4 to 6 should be fine. For the engine performance What are the degree marks indicating on the prop ? --> Yak-List message posted by: "jay reiter" <jmreiter@adelphia.net> Jim just read this over again the spline on the governor arm is a micro spline the internal and external splines on the bushing are different and by shifting the splines you can change the position of the arm. I missed that you were looking for that in my first read. Try and find this in the Russian manual I have the spec. in the Chinese but the rpm is so much different. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Frank Haertlein" <yak52driver@earthlink.net> Yakl1; Don't apologize for wanting the freedoms we once enjoyed. I would like nothing more than to not have to worry about suitcase nuclear bombs planted on our soil by arabs or the release of anthrax by radical elements of islam. I consider my freedom to fly a right as precious as the first or second amendment but both you and I know that it would take only one act by a radical muslim using a general aviation airplane to completely destroy the freedom to fly that we now enjoy. I've take'n the assault on our freedoms personally. For example, I refuse to shop or visit any store that is run by muslims. I'm engaging in a personal boycott of anything muslim. If the rest of us would do the same they would leave this country in short order. Now if only I could figure a way to boycott their oil.......... Bt the way, I don't consider it inappropriate for the board. We want to maintain our rights to fly, don't we? Well, then we better wake up to the threats against our freedoms. Frank YAK-52 N9110M -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of YakL1@aol.com Subject: Yak-List: The freedom to fly will continue to degrade... --> Yak-List message posted by: YakL1@aol.com Hear Hear!!!!!! We need to boot out not just the radical muslims, but ALL the illegal aliens which BOTH political parties allow to flood our shores and degrade our heritage. We need to realize that we are in a war which will ONLY be one by the extirpation of those who espouse toxic wahibism, and those who support, defend and shelter them. We have the technical means to accomplish this without delay, we lack only the political will...Our country has been overrun by those who despise our traditions and the sacrifices of our forefathers. The same fools in the liberal media who feel it only "fair" to encourage marriage between perverts, who will ever and always choose the balkanization of "identity politics" over a realistic appraisal of the common good, have already selected the next President and are doing all they can to insure his election. He, like his recent "liberal" colleagues, will sell our country even farther down the river. He has no plan...he just wants to "be President". I weep for the country my daughter will inherit.
