Giday, Kendal. The lad says the containers are in good shape and he needs $2,500
Cdn
for them or about $1,850 US. I'm about to check on shipping so if you'd like to
persue
this, pls. send me a zip code in AZ.

Smoke Pumps
We have always used the Jabsco bilge-pumps. The only real disadvantage is that
they are a bit heavy, but conversely are cheap; robust; will pump anything (designed
for boat-bilges).
The neoprene impellers will wear out if used continuously without smoke oil, but
the secret is to make a loop of thin pipe from the exit of the pump round back
to the inlet, and so even if the tank is allowed to run dry, this closed loop
will continue to carry oil around sufficient to keep the pump lubricated.
Finally, the impellers are cheap and easy to replace if you need to.

Thanks, David. That's not a bad price, but I've found them for $1950 in Phoenix.
I probably need to buy one and get it trucked to Tucson... before the price
goes down.

Subject: | Yaks and 3 blade props (CAUTION) |
--> Yak-List message posted by: "TC Johnson" <tjohnson@cannonaviation.com>
Folks:
The Yak 52s and 52TWs with 3 blade props have a tendency to find objects to strike
(other than air).
I don't know if it is a tip clearance problem, or just a curse.
Please be extra careful about tip clearance and give an extra eye out for foreign
objects (such as the ground).
Depressions in rough grass or dirt can present hazards.
Underserviced nose struts put the blades real close to the ground.
. . Underserviced gear handles have a similar outcome . . .
Instructor Pilots please spend extra time with new owners discussing tip clearance
and safeguarding the expensive spinny thing.
Maybe the 2 blades have the same problem, but due to the minor cost, never present
insurance problems.
The 3 blades are getting the kind of attention we don't want.

Subject: | Yak 52 pulls right on taxi |
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Tom Johnson" <tjohnson@cannonaviation.com>
Anybody ever have any luck trimming the steering on a Yak or Nanchang?
My 52 pulls gently to the right during taxi.
Vladymir, Bill Blackwell and Carl Hays have all said it is a fact of life, some
do, some dont.
But no easy remedy.
I got used to it in about 12 minutes, . . But people new to Yaks seems to be more
bothered by it.
Please advise directly to me off list and I'll summarize back to the list afterwards.
do not archive.

Yakkers;
I built a smoke system for my 52 and it works like a charm. It has
enough oil capacity for about 3 minutes worth of smoke. I don't fly in
air shows much (I'm mostly acting as a static display) so I wonder what
is the typical need for how long we can produce smoke?
In other words, how long do you think a smoke system should put out
smoke?
While I'm at it, what other things make up the ideal smoke system for
your aircraft and your specific needs?
I'm thinking maybe three minutes of smoke isn't enough. Any suggestions
as to the ideas
Thanks in advance!
