I can say that we have fourteen hubs, but no blades for them, and I am sure this will become an increasing problem, since the hubs are durable, but blades hit the ground; de-laminate etc! --> Yak-List message posted by: "A. Dennis Savarese" <adsavar@gte.net> GT Propeller sent me pricing info last January for their blades; 6000 Euro or at today's exchange rate, $7420 US. Yes, they're the only game in town but that's still fairly expensive. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Drew Blahnick" <drewblahnick@hotmail.com> A reminder to pilots in the western and central states, Scott Mcmillian and Al Tinnes are hosting an event September 15th: The 2004 South Central Regional Fly-In is being held at the Lamar Municipal Airport. The Lamar Municipal Airport is located approximately 3 miles west of the city of Lamar, Colorado. The airport is centrally located within the South Central Region and should provide a great environment for our event. The city of Lamar and the Lamar Flying Service have opened their doors to the RPA and look forward to many more RPA events. The goal of this fly-in is to provide you with a variety of training along with open formats to accommodate individual training needs. We will be providing a FAST ground school, FAST Lead pilot ground school course, FAST flight training, Tactical formation briefing and flight training, Air-to-Ground Bombing briefing and flight training. We will also have available a sanctioned aerobatic box that will be activated upon request. We have several CFI's in the group that can provide basic spin training and BFR signoffs. We are planning some friendly yet competitive flying events each afternoon to test our skills as pilots. You can look forward to a Landing competition, Bombing competition, Basic Aerobatic Skills competition and a trivia contest all of which will be scored individually and totaled as part of a combined team score. Details of these events will be covered each day. Awards will be given to the best individual in each event as well as an award for the best team score. The airport identifier is KLAA. AWOS frequency is 135.62. Unicom is 122.8. Field elevation is 3703' MSL. For more information visit the airport website at www.flylamar.com or call them at 719-336-7701. Discounted Fuel will be available for RPA members If you plan to fly commercial the best option would be to arrive via Colorado Springs or Denver International then drive. There is no commercial service to Lamar and limited service to Pueblo. The drive time from Springs is about 2 hours and about 3 hours from Denver.
