The dates and place of the Western region Fall Tactical Clinic are set.
The three most important factors in picking the location for advanced
tactical training are airspace, aircraft performance (DENALT
considerations), and ground support. I was really looking forward to
using Wendover, NV. for this event, but with a MSL altitude of 4500
feet, that means 10K for fighting...our aircraft just don't do well
enough up there for this type of flying.
That being said, this will be the first annual South County Shootout
willl be held this Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the South County Airport (Q99)
south of San Jose, CA . We are hoping for Thursday evening arrivals so
we can start with ground schools (new and shorter) Friday morning and
fly all day Friday and Saturday. We'll have a Sunday morning Bay Tour
(great fun!) with a mass formation photo shoot over the Golden Gate
bridge followed by a "Tora, Tora, Tora" gun run on the boats in the bay
before everyone departs for home. We'll also have an on field BBQ and
12-course gourmet meal at the Frosty Chateau...man, can his wife cook!
We're currently working on accommodations, so now that we are firm in
the dates, I need a show of hands and who will need to bunk up. The
last event came in at $300 per participant...it will not be above this
and could be less depending on how many commit. Please DO NOT respond

This clinic is for ALL FAST rated pilots that want to add a little more
fun to the mix. You DO NOT have to have an interest in ACM to attend.
Tac Form and Tail Chase will be the PRIMARY focus of this clinic...all
of which can be done at less than 3 G's!
