Yakinators
Read below to find out what could happen to our freedom to fly. The
question is, "why is this kind of stuff happening and what will it take
to get our freedoms back if bills like this pass"?...... Do you think
that, maybe, Arab extremists being inside this country might have
anything to do with it?
Here's the proposed bill...................
a newly introduced bill by Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) This bill (H.R.
5035) would require the Department of Homeland Security to create a
method of screening all passengers and property on each flight of all
passenger aircraft in the U.S., including general aviation aircraft of
all types. It would also prohibit any non-airline aircraft from flying
within 1,500 feet of any structure or building, and prohibit non-airline
aircraft from flying over any U.S. city with a population of 1 million
or more. It would further require that pilots of all aircraft in U.S.
airspace remain in contact with the Federal Aviation Administration,
presumably by radio, regardless of altitude or location.

Can someone put up a friend who lives in Ft. Pierce? His house, which
was close to the beach, was mostly destroyed. If so, please contact me
on my phone listed below or contact him directly:
Eric Granger -- 772-321-4443
Eric is a CFI/CFII who is planning to come down here to the USVI to
participate in my flying club.

Sean Carroll and Adrian Belinne, along with the rest of the crew at
Kimble's Aviation, are in the final stages of planning the autumn
edition of the RedStar Pilots' Association's Eastern US Gathering! The
dates for the fly-in are Thursday, 14 Oct through Sunday, 17 Oct. and
will once again be hosted by Kimble's Aviation at the Sussex County
Airport (KGED), in Georgetown, Delaware.
Like our last event at Georgetown, we will primarily focus on formation
flying, and getting as many recommendation rides and check rides as
possible. We will run a ground school for any new formation pilots who
wish to attend as well as lead pilot ground training.
For all the information, and to be put on the invitation list, please
contact Adrian Belinne at Belinne@hotmail.com
<mailto:Belinne@hotmail.com> , or (240) 375-3423
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves tremendously last time, so think
about anyone else that might be interested in bringing their YAK-52 or
CJ-6 to this event and invite them, too. If you know someone that
doesn't own one of these airplanes, but might be in the market, make
sure you invite them to join us so that they can consider joining our
elite(?) (perhaps motley is a better word...) corps, too.
Some examples of the world class presentations we are considering
include;
How To Clean Your Plane In Under 5 Minutes
By Dr. Ski "Who took my chamois" Slawinsky
Enhancing Your Tactical Weather Decision Analysis Skills
By Steve "It's just a little low scud" Dalton
The Art of Advance Formation Flying in CJ and Yak Aircraft
By Mike "Keep that damn plane away from me" Filucci
Take care,
Charlie

No, we don't Frank. In fact, most of us believe that very little that
happens, good or bad, is the result of Arab extremists. Remember:
never attribute to malice that which may be adequately explained by
stupidity. And this is certainly one of the stupidest bills I have
ever seen.
This bill has to do with a stupid congresscritter who thinks this will
play well with his constituency so he can can get reelected. He is
playing on their fears to further his own ends. We can only hope that
people like this accidentally step in front of rapidly-moving bus
before they do too much damage.

My father (also a CJ6A flyer) has quite good access to Congress (he is
a retired congresscritter himself) and is looking into the political
climate WRT this bill. His immediate reaction is that this is a
grandstand bill meant for constituency consumption that has almost no
chance of passage during this session of Congress. Regardless, he will
find out what is happening. I will keep this list posted.

I have one extra ticket - B39 Box seat with Box Seat parking, Thursday through
Sunday. Cost me $280, I'll sell for $200 or best reasonable offer. Seating is
with the Cascade Warbirds group out of Seattle and the West Coast, great bunch
of people.
