Troops & family,
Well, Jannie is about to visit us. Looks like Craig Payne down near LAL will
get to see another hurricane's eye. I've got a bad feeling about this one
folks. If you live down here, it comes with the good parts of Florida. If she
holds west of us on her north track, the eye should pass about 30 to 35 miles
west of us. This put us in the NE quadrant where the highest winds plus the
strom's speed have the highest velocities. That should happen about noon
tomorrow. We'll most likely loose power way before than.
I expect to loose a good number of trees. Hopefully they won't land on my
house. Will most likely loose shingles from the roof too. Hopefully there
won't be much water damage. In doing a 'walk around' the house and hangar
checking stuff, I found damage from the last hurricane. The hangar roof had shingles
scraped off from a tree limb that had grown to close. I ended up trimming
back a bunch hoping to preclude more damage. Looks like I got repairs to do no
matter what happens.
Those folks who bought those parts from me? It might be a week or so before
I can mail/ship them. I'm sure you understand.
We're already getting her outer rain bands but the wind is still light.

WEATHER ALERT
The National Weather Service has issued a warning for yet another
catastrophic hurricane following on the heels of Ivan and Jeanne. The path
of this hurricane zigs and zags, and is therefore highly unpredictable.
Experts predict that this one will cause the most damage
to the United States that we have experienced in four years. They are naming
this one Hurricane Kerry. Be advised, the only way for citizens to protect
themselves is by hiding behind a Bush.

Swamp Dragons seen this before and got along just fine.
The price we pay to live here.
My plane is in a hangar in KBCT and I hope it holds up for this one. In case
it don't I took out, again, the chutes headsets, radio, gps and the xponder.
I'll put them in another cj if all goes to hell.

Jim,
I have it on good authority that this hurricane will wander
off into oblivion. It's also rumored it will carry off a major
news organization along this same track.

We in Miami are experience moderate rain fall and wind gust up to 40 mph, it
looks like we will be okay.
I worry about you, Craig and Ernie and the rest of the unlucky folks in this
storm's path.
