Does anyone know of a cell phone activated 110 V switch? I would like
to be able to remotely turn on the oil heaters on my YAK this winter. I
usually only fly about once a week during the winter.

There is an excellent article in the Oct 2004 issue of Light Plane
Maintenance. It covers the various heating systems including why you
need them and how they work. The mention a box from Judith Mountain
Technologies that functions like a pager and controls your preheat
system remotely.

The last copy of Sailing magazine also has an article on wireless boat
gadgets, one was a cell interface to do just what you want.

You know, I really like country music. It has something to be said for
almost any human condition, especially momma, trains, getting drunk,
prison, rain, trucks, good ol' dogs, etc. Sometimes there is a stanza
that just seems so pointedly appropriate like:
"Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'cause I get better lookin' each day.
To know me is to love me
I must be a helluva man.
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble,
but I'm doin' the best that I can."
Let's see if I can add to Mac Davis' ideas here:
I used to hang with pilots,
But they just couldn't compete,
With all the political opinions,
That they sorely needed to see.
I suppose I should start my own mail-list
'Cause I'm the way and the truth and the light,
And they will all come running,
'Cause deep down they know that I'm right.
(Chorus)
I am an American Icon
Damn torpedoes and full speed ahead!
The only good middle-east raghead
is one that we've made good and dead.
We have the nuclear weapons
what a waste that they sit there and rot
I think I can find a use for 'em
for a lesson that they should be taught.
(Chorus)
<snicker> This is just too much of target-rich environment.

There is a time to laud one's country and a time to protest. A good
citizen is prepared to do either as the need arises.

Yeah. I was poking fun at myself too, especially in that first stanza
I wrote. Many of us have a penchant for taking ourselves too seriously
when we should just be talking about and enjoying our airplanes. And
if we can't laugh at ourselves what the hell good are we?
Hmmm, as an equal-opportunity offender, I should probably make a point
to write a stanza for each of the people on the list.
You know, this reminds me of one of my favorite jokes.
Q: How do you know if there is a pilot in the room?
A: He'll tell you.
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way...

Better buy one quick (and C.O.D. to a fictional name and address). These
clearly have terrorist potential and the Dept of Homeland Security will
pounce on them sooner or later.
Probably later- It took them six months after Reid's arrest to start

While I'm not going to point fingers at anyone specifically in the public
forum, there is a lot of unrest on the List right now fueled primarily by a
small number of individuals. I have received an unprecedented number of
complaints from members regarding the content of late. I'm asking that
everyone on the List please refrain from posting controversial material
that isn't directly related to aircraft. Certainly any sort of personal
attacks or name calling is completely unacceptable. As the List
Administrator, I am now asking nicely; I have the ability to block postings
and/or posters but have rarely ever had to use that ability. I do not wish
to use it now. Please help make the List an enjoyable and welcome place
for all of the members.
Thank you,

Fellow CJ'rs
I cleaned my engine yesterday trying to track down a leak. I flew it today then
inspected the engine. Good news....I found the leak. Bad news.....one of the
port rear cylinder base studs broke off.
Question: Has anyone been able to remove a busted stud while the cylinder was still
in place. If yes, advise is most welcome.
Doug,
Have you got "Special Wrench Cylinder Nuts" oh very special chineese parts man????
