Actually, WX in the N. Atlantic is soon not going to be looking so
good. I suspect I will need ILS capability. How does the 18T handle
ice?

No. It is just that one has to deal with the CAA which is even more
hide-bound than the FAA. There are some issues having to do with
flying from there.
But that is just my experience from relatively few visits and flying
there and I could very well be wrong.
OTOH the French seem to be an order of magnitude easier to deal with.

What are you doing for the rest of your instrumentation? Blue Mountain
does fuel flow as part of their EFIS system. Most good engine monitors
have fuel flow also.
For a separate gauge check out JPI or Matronics.

I've had experience with the JPI engine analyzer in my Dakota. I had the
EDM-800 with Fuel flow, worked flawlessly. If you have the bucks I would
suggest the JPI 900 with Fuel flow, it has CHT-EGT for all 9 cylinders and
fuel flow for about $3500, or you can go with the FS-450 for around $500
bucks fuel flow only. WIll interface with your GPS to give you things like
Fuel Used, Fuel Remaining, fuel required to next waypoint etc.

I use a JPI FS450 in my Yak 52. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly. Very easy
interface (to most GPSs) gives you a continual read on anticipated fuel
reserve at destination. It also displays fuel consumption per nm, which
tells you if that climb to catch a tail wind has actually achieved anything.
