It is formulted to comply with Boeing Spec D6-17487P. I gave it a test run on the belly of my CJ this morning -- it works. _www.simplegreen.com_ (http://www.simplegreen.com) 800-228-0709

Subject: Prop Angle and bearing adjustment
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Frank Haertlein" <yak52driver@earthlink.net> Yasters; I need confirmation on a few things. Is the prop blade angle of 14.5 degrees measured exactly 1 meter from the center of the hub? Also, in adjusting the prop bearings, are they snugged up similarly to how you snug up a wheel bearing? After rebuilding my prop hub, I notice that the prop nut locking tabs no longer line up with the holes drilled into the hub. I can get them to line up but then the bearing adjustment seems overly tight. My guess is you need to custom build these locking tabs to fit each new bearing adjustment point. Is that correct? Thanks In Advance Frank Haertlein YAK-52 N9110M L71 The New, Official Seal of the Democratic Party. http://home.earthlink.net/~yak52driver/seal.jpg

Is the prop blade angle of 14.5 > degrees measured exactly 1 meter from the center of the hub? Both are correct for the V530 prop on the M14P > Also, in adjusting the prop bearings, are they snugged up similarly to > how you snug up a wheel bearing? No. They are adjusted at overhaul to a specific turning torque for each blade with the connecting slider removed from the hub. This is not feasible to do in the field so I use a slightly higher torque value and with two spring scales and two people adjust the bearing nuts to equal values of blade turning torque. The individual blade turning torque value is approx. 8 ft lb, I can't remember tolerances right now but will check at the hangar today. When finished (with acceptable blade turning torque) the bearing nut tightening torque should be within 17 in lb of each other. After rebuilding my prop hub, I notice > that the prop nut locking tabs no longer line up with the holes drilled > into the hub. I can get them to line up but then the bearing adjustment > seems overly tight. My guess is you need to custom build these locking > tabs to fit each new bearing adjustment point. Is that correct? > Thanks In Advance That is correct. I make them from .063" St Steel. Unlike the Chinese prop the Russian props. I have seen have bearing nut index markings ("0") on the hub and nut. These were very close to lined up after torque adjustment so that is probably their purpose. Maybe that is all you have to do! --> Yak-List message posted by: "Frank Haertlein" <yak52driver@earthlink.net> Yaksters Did my first "wifferdill" a few weeks ago. As I understand it, a wifferdill is "a totally indescribable maneuver". Well, at least during the heat of the moment it seemed indescribable. Was showing off above a private airstrip between Mojave and Rosamond (Ancient Valley). Did a 5G pull into a loop. Right before entering the up line the left wing let loose into an accelerated stall. Wasn't expecting it so it was at first disorienting. Geese, it happened fast! Ended up being pointed straight up under full power. Proceeded to finish with an unplanned but beautiful hammerhead. It was, basically, a snap roll on the up line finishing in a hammerhead. AHHHH, the freedom of flying and the joy of discovery!! You gotta love it! :) Frank YAK-52 N9110M Calif. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Gus Fraser" <fraseg@comcast.net> An avalanche going up the mountain rather than from the top, nice. Why were you pulling 5 G for a loop ? Sounds like the best way to loose E in a display. The Yak 52 does great but too much energy is not something that she suffers from. BTW an avalanche is known as a portious loop in England, I will teach you guys to speak English if it kills me :)) Gus -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of Frank Haertlein Subject: Yak-List: The Yak and the WIFFERDILL --> Yak-List message posted by: "Frank Haertlein" <yak52driver@earthlink.net> Yaksters Did my first "wifferdill" a few weeks ago. Subject: LANDING GEAR
--> Yak-List message posted by: Ronald Kalemba <emu21@sbcglobal.net> YAKSTERS, Went flying today and right gear didn't come up on CJ-6. Left gear and nose gear came up normally and right gear didn't move as I still had green lite on right gear. Seemed to be air bypassing as I had atomized oil by gear handle. Put gear handle to neutral (off) for a few seconds and then back to up and then Rt.gear went up. Flew for about 30 min. and gear came down normally. This happened once before. Any ideas what needs to be done to fix this problem? Thanks, Ron Kalemba Emu 21 224-558-8173
