Shane,
Do you have an LCD projector for the training? We will run the FAST ground
school if we have new guys who need it and we will plan on running the Lead
Pilot Seminar. The FAST ground school requires a 4 hour block, the Lead seminar
about 2.5 hours.
We could also use an easel with one of those large pads with tear-off sheets
for our training, if you can track one down.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Mike Filucci

In addition to what Mike Filucci has stated, let me just ad this.
Every region has a Regional Coordiator (RC). Their mandate is to
promote and grow activity and membership in their region. I am the
newest member of the BOD, and also the West RC...which is the direction
the association is headed. This gives geographically balanced
representation on the BOD as well as providing some level of insurance
that the BOD is all active in promoting the association. Sooo, if you
want something that is not available or you are not aware of in your
region, contact your RC and they'll work with you.
We have run the following formal events in 2004 in the West:
1) Feb. Advanced Tactical Clinic
2) All Red Star III - FAST training through BFM
3) Oct. South County Shootout
In 2005 the following events are planned:
1) Feb. Advanced Tactical Clinic
2) March "Winter Thaw" at Deer Valley, AZ
3) ARS IV - with public ariel displays on Saturday
4) Oct. South County Shootout
In addition to that there is a group of us in SoCal that fly on a
frequent basis. We have a few guys that are looking to finish up their
Wingman cards and a clinic would be a snap to put together. If you are
interested in running another FAST type clinic just let me know and we
can get it done. My suggestion would be an April event in SoCal. That
way there are 3 (including the Riverside TRARON event) opportunities
for guys to get their formation training in prior to ARS IV and allow
them to participate in the Saturday activities.
The important thing is to plan far enough in advance so that we can get
enough IP's and Check Airmen dedicated to the event so we can
accomplish our objectives.
Tally ho!
