For those of you based in the NE; there is a formation clinic being held in January
2005 at Millville, NJ, which is being organized by the "Vultures". The Vultures
was founded by a group of guys flying RV8 that perform at various airshows
and events around the NE.
It's a great opportunity to meet another group of enthusiasts with considerable formation experience. Check out their great website and sign up for their formation school http://www.vultureformation.com/ or contact Joe (Zack) Czachorowski <zackrv8@verizon.net> for more information.
I understand that Joe can issue FFI cards, although I am not sure the difference
between this an a FAST card.

I'm looking for a report I've seen on the web, most likely on a USA web
site.
The report was a comparison of YAK 55 and SU 29 written by Alan Cassidy a
few years ago, do you know the report and where I can find it?
Thanks, MJ pls reply direct to mark.j@yakuk.com

During taxi the other day I noticed if I applied full brake to one side or
the other, either from a stop or slow speed, the wing would dip in that
direction. The wing would come back to level after releasing the brake. Is the
strut pressure too low, or is this normal? Also the nose strut is fully extended,
with virtually no give. Is this normal, also?

You need to ad nitro to the dipping strut, your nost strut seems to be
over filled.

I am going under the assumption you are flying a CJ.
In which case, it is not normal. The main gear should not collapse when
braking, and the nose should have some play. Mine used to be very bad on
the main, the wing used to dip quite a lot when brakes were applied for
turns. During the annual last winter, emptied all the struts and reserviced
them with new hydraulic fluid and the correct amount (as per the book) and
all is now well. The Nose strut was also serviced, but too much nitrogen
was added and it did not flex. It made taxiing more difficult as the
airplane was continuously pulling to the left and eventually causing a
total brake fade on the right side. Removing the excess nitrogen solved the
problem.
Hopes this help

So far today I have not heard one word about what day this is.
Is it PC not to honor it anymore?
Anyway lets have quite prayer for what happened at Pearl Harbor on this day
in 1941.
BTW the term PC or "politically correct" was first used by the communist
party in Russia in a paper justifying the 'elimination' of political opponents.

I know its not quite airplane talk, but going on the theory that most pilots
have cell phones, I thought this might be useful info to pass on...

"I know many of you have registered your home phone on the National Do Not
Call List. Are you aware that you can also register your cell phone number?
I recommend that you do this to prevent your minutes from being used up by
telemarketing calls. Please read the following and either call the 888
number from the phone you want to register or visit the website.
In the coming weeks, cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies and you will start to receive tele-sales calls. Call this number
from your cell phone 888-382-1222. It is the National Do Not Call list. It
blocks your number for 5 years.
You can also register do not call numbers using the FCC web site at:
<https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx>
Remember, to register via phone you must call from the phone you wish to
register. "

If this is a Yak 52, the main strut pressure is 270 - 295 PSI. Keep them on
the high side. The nose strut is 370-400 PSI. It will be very stiff at
these pressures.
