Hey, i'm going over there weds to collect an ex USA YAK 52 that was sent for full
OH. By an owner who appreciates what we do. So, it is possible to send them
back if your prepaied and want to meet the factory standard. (I dont mean Aerostar
standard!!) and want to assurance you have a fully AD'ed, proper overhaul.
Its just a shame the USD has gone "tits"
ref the drinking bit, in the UK they are putting pilots in prison for 6 months
at a time now, the law changed at begining of december, I think and we are easy
targets now. It appears you need over 24 hrs to get rid of 4 glasses and a beer
from the system.
cheers, MJ
++++++++++
And, Mark, be careful drinking the vodka next time you're in Lithuania ..
Regards,
Jerry Painter

talking of overhauls, we are ready to pay 25,000$ for any YAK 52 that can be flown
to Vermont. AD's not important other than 59/60 (will pay less for a/c without)
Engine, instruments, propeller, paint condition not important.
Best regards, Mark

We use the YAK 52 carb heat horns, and air box. Simple to fit. Off the shelf part
from Aerostar. Call them up, give a credit card number and they will be dispatched
in 24 hrs.
To control the hot/ cold selection we use a teleflex cable.
hope that helps.
BTW, Aerostar dont use modern business practices yet. I'm sure if they did they
would get a lot of orders, it only take a concerted effort to be serious in the
dispatch and supply of parts. The market now consists of approx 100 YAK's in
UK, 50 in Europe, 250 in USA. Just think no need to make your own bits and bobs
then :>))

Thanks for the info,
I am still waiting on the manuals so am not sure what "air horns are, look
like or how they fit onto the carb...any details would be appreciated!
Do you have any weight and balance data (stations for pilot, fuel, oil and
flight data recorder) by any chance? I am installing a smoke system and
will need this data for correct W&B calcs.
Again, appreciate your input,
-rs-
