--> Yak-List message posted by: "Ira Saligman" <isaligman@saligman.com> Does anyone have experience with or can you recommend a method for polishing the canopy and getting some of the smaller scratches/glazing out? --> Yak-List message posted by: Barry Hancock <barry@flyredstar.org> Gang, There have been a few requests for a basic FAST clinic in SoCal. Well, as your RC, I think it's my duty to provide one! What the heck, I'm doing the Advanced Tactical Clinic in March, a Lancair Formation Clinic at the end of April, and ARS in May...the begnning of April is feeling a little neglected! So, a basic FAST clinic with a Friday afternoon ground school for April 1-3 is being considered. Please let me know if you'd like to attend ASAP. The location is TBD, somewhere in SoCal. I'm running the Lancair clinic out of Mojave...cool place with really cheap gas ($2.50/gal...gosh, that's cheap now...yikes!) and rooms are in the $75/night range. If you have some previous training this event will be a good primer to get your sharp for a check ride at ARS in May. Jets are encouraged to attend, too! Sooo, get back to me ASAP and I'll get the details banged out. This is also an open request for those that would like to participate as IP's.... Your humble servant, Barry

--> Yak-List message posted by: "Frank Haertlein" <yak52driver@earthlink.net> Yaksters Is it possible to get my ex-military, Russian designed and Romanian built YAK-52 certified in the normal category? And, if it is possible, does that certification then apply to all other YAK-52's built the same way in the same factory? Maybe I should phrase it a different way. They made the Cessna 337 for the military as well as for the civilian use. One is certified normally and the other is a warbird. Can you subsequently certify the warbird version so it will live the same life as the civilian version as regards the rules of normal certification? How about the P-51? If I had 5 million dollars to get my personally owned P-51 certified to normal category does that then apply only to my P-51 or does that then apply to all others built the same way in the same factory? Thanks in advance Frank YAK-52 N9110M L71

You'll be able to get a large quantity for cheap. It works equally well for Plexiglas. The scratches can't be too deep though. If they're deep then you're better off with one of the Plexiglas restoration kits available from the likes of Aircraft Spruce. If the Plexiglas if fogged white then you have no choice but to replace it. Frank YAK-52 N9110M L71
