Dennis Savarese" We have a paint and interior shop at our local airport (08A) that does outstanding work and has done three sets of Yak 52 seat cushions. If you're interested in contacting them, the company name is Tri-D. The owner's name is Richard Chaput. He can be contacted at 334-285-5456. Feel free to tell him Dennis Savarese recommended him and his work to you. They cost me about $500 for front and rear. They used the space age foam and are in leather. He did a the seat pan cushion as a split cushion. Bottom half was a heavy foam (spacer) to make up for the loss of height from not having a seat pak. The top half was the "space age" foam. Since I fly with a seat pack, I took the foam spacer out and just use the foam cushion. I also took the foam seat back cushion. I think DaBear swallowed one when his engine choked over lake Michigan a couple of years ago. When he landed back at OSH, there was a cushion gone MIA. :-) Stephen Fox wrote: --> Yak-List message posted by: Stephen Fox Anyone know where I can get seat cushions for the 52? Conger" --> Yak-List message posted by: "Dee L. Conger" All, I'm working with Ken at Cee Bailey in LA to fabricate the Malcom Hood slider for the -50/52 - he will be using my slider as a prototype. He hasn't told me pricing yet, but if you are interested, contact Ken and get your order in early! I'm also fabricating new cowling latches out of polished stainless using Skybolt stainless camlocks for closure - these will require that you drill out the rivet attaching the outer latch, and replace it with the new stainless latch. Don't know pricing yet, but I would imagine that the latches will be under $100 plus the cost of the skybolt fastners. Drop me a note if you are interested in a set. Dee L. I think you are going to change your aerodynamics a bit with the Malcome Hood. Will wait an see how it works out. I have a YAK-52 replacement canopy as we speak and no I do not want to sell it at this time. It was sent to replace my current canopy that has a gap along the right upper side. They (the Lithuianians) think the plexaglass warped when it was being molded causing the frame to torque. If the Malcome works out with your flight test will consider having one made. Need contact info on "Ken". Thanks, Doc -----Original Message----- From: "Dee L. Conger" Subject: Yak-List: "Malcom Hoods" for Yak 50/52 --> Yak-List message posted by: "Dee L.
