Time for an approved parts replacement and a new log entry. New technology reports inclusion of human cells in donor virtually precludes rejection on basis of incompatibility. In addition, choose the donor and be certain to fill out a form 337. Oh, that's right, you're operating in the Experimental category; 337 not necessary. Jet Warbird Fly-In near Dallas, May 12-15th. http://www.email.net/fly-in Free BBQ, Beer, Cheap Jet Fuel, Formation Clinic. No jet necessary to attend... you can just come out and hold up cards with big numbers from 1 to 9 on them to grade formations and landings. :-) Jon

Subject: Television op for the right pilots
--> Yak-List message posted by: E R <jogggles@yahoo.com> Gang, I'm going to make this brief, but my manager in Las Vegas is putting me in touch with an NBC casting producer who is looking for contestant teams (each team having a common thread) of three for a new reality series called "Treasure Hunters." (I hear it is not too dissimilar from "Amazing Race.") The producer was very receptive to having a team of pilots, and I need two people that have the right stuff to win a reality show game and a good TVQ. Right now I do not know the time commitment nor details of the game, but NBC wants to hear back from me right away. Keeping in mind there is no guarantee of being cast, if this interests you (keeping in mind the downsides of being on national TV...you WILL become famous, even if for only 15 minutes) please contact me immediately off list with a short bio about you and a picture I can submit to NBC (preferably one of you looking like a pilot.) I'll respond with details when I have them, which should be soon. Elizabeth

Subject: Re: yak 55 smoke system
--> Yak-List message posted by: Bryan Coppersmith <bryan@yaknz.com> We have installed Smoke kits produced by John at Smoking Airplanes in our Yak 52's. I don't know if they will fit in the Yak 55 but John is very obliging and will probably make one to fit if required. They are excellent value, easy to install and work really well - see photos that compare his smoke in our aircraft (2 out of 5 aircraft in formation) on his web site at: http://smokingairplanes.com/photogallery/view_album.php? set_albumName=album01&page=2 and photos of our installation at: http://smokingairplanes.com/photogallery/view_album.php? set_albumName=album02&page=2 I was particularly happy with the use of the existing ADF control panel for the smoke control system. The rotary knob fits perfectly allowing selection of smoke density. As far as where to put the switching, there is a switch on the ADF panel that runs the pump continuously (not the ideal position) but we opted for momentary action switches. We swapped the control columns so that we could use the brake override switch on top of the rear column. I was skeptical at first but my partner Paul Hughan used momentary action in the Air Force aerobatic switch and convinced me to try it. It is excellent! The only downside was when pushing negative G as in an outside loop my thumb is not wrapped around the column as it is up on the button. This felt like my (sweaty) palm was slipping when pushing forward. A good set on gloves solved this problem though. Hope this helps ... Bryan
