Subject: All Red Star in 7 Days!!!
--> Yak-List message posted by: Num1Pilot@aol.com It is almost that time! Time for the annual All Red Star Fly-in. All you guys out East, jump on your local airline and come out to join us! It is worth the trip. The following is an e-mail I sent to those who have registered for ARS 2005 and provided us with an e-mail address. To ensure it's widest dissemination, I am going to rebroadcast here on the list.... -Postal Air Boss ARS 2005 --------------------------------------------------- 7 DAYS TO SHOWTIME!!! Dear ARS Participant, 1. As the Air Boss this year, I wanted to send out a quick reminder for all those who wish to participate in the Mass Formation Flight. BRING YOUR CURRENT FAST CARD. We have waivered airspace and I can't allow you to be in the formation without it. I want to get a nice big mass formation up in the air! 2. Bug your friends and have them pre-register at _www.allredstar.com_ (http://www.allredstar.com/) . The more people that register the easier you make the job for Sparky (our food guru), Barry (the big cheese), and me... we need to make sure we have enough food and beer for everyone.... so e-mail your friends and help me with the effort! I get you better quality food the more people I can sign up before the end of the weekend.... oh and it make the check-in process go MUCH QUICKER. 3. On that note, feel free to bring a GIB or your wife. We are doing our best to make the event more spouse friendly. If they want, I can always use their volunteer time with the many little chores that come up. Any time they can give to the cause will make the experience better for everyone! 4. What a year we are going to have at Castle! Things are much better organized, prepared, and ready for you at All Red Star this year. The meals are all catered, there is complimentary beer at the end of flight ops, and LOTS of flying! I hope you are as excited as I am. Fly Navy! Postal Did I mention there will be lots of flying?

--> Yak-List message posted by: "cpayne@joimail.com" <cpayne@joimail.com> I vote "YAKASS" for sure. During last year's visit to Oshkosh I was discussing the pecking order of parking for warbirds with the ground vrew. You know, P-51's up front and Yaks in the Back. Turns out the WB ground crews often work the same sections, year after year. "Our" guys took pride in the fact that "Their" airplanes (Yaks) DIDN'T have names, were flown everyday in the airshow and the pilots didn't require Prima Donna treatment like the Front Row pilots did. They said they respected "real warbirds" as opposed to Museum Warbirds. Of course I'd trade even-up for one of those Museum Warbirds but I couldn't afford the Mandatory Divorce and Trophy Wife that seem to come with the P-51 :) Craig Payne

I could not afford the above either. Heck, she already has everything in her name anyway and I'm paying for it. Don't want her to get "Miss Mollie" (the YAK) in her name to. But anyway, I already have my Trophy Wife.... I married her 30 years ago and am still proud of her even if there is alittle wear around the edges. Not that I have not been showing the wear also! Happy Mother's Day to all the Wives and moms! Doc YAK 52 N552 SH "Miss Mollie" (named for my trophy wife) If it don't sound Round....Why listen? > >
