--> Yak-List message posted by: "Royden Heays" <heaysr@telus.net> Hello Yaksters, Does anyone know who supplies disk brake pads for the Yak 55M fitted with original Russian wheels. Each wheel has two double sided disks that rotate with the wheel and to which the pads are riveted. They are sandwiched between stationary disks; a single sided inner disk, a double sided floating disk and a single sided outer disk. Royden Heays

--> Yak-List message posted by: Bob Fitzpatrick <rmfitz@direcway.com> Yakers, The AH in the front of my 52 has been going bad and GIB said the back was working fine so i switched them. The #2 AH (in front) started up fine but after some acro it failed also making me suspect the #1 converter. How do i confirm this and are the Russian converters repairable? Also noted the rear converter has to be on for the gyro compass to work even though it (gyro) has it's own switch. Is that right? ADF has been removed. TIA bob "Boris" 52BN

Subject: fuel bladder tank installation in CJ6
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Doug Sapp" <rvfltd@televar.com> Forest, I had Bill Blackwell install both the bladder tanks and the "managed fuel vent system" in my factory new CJ6. Barry Hancock flew it up from Deer Valley, you might ask him about his opinion. I flew it about 25 hours before I left for Red Star on the 12th. After Red Star I flew from Merced/Atwater to Sandy NV, from Sandy NV, to Santa Teresa TX, then on to San Marcos TX where I delivered it to it's new owner. Not only did the tanks enable me to have very long legs, but I made 90% of the flight with my feet flat on the floor and only once did I have an imbalance that was over 10 liters, and then it was just a matter of shutting one vent off until the imbalance cured itself, all done without holding rudder or flying around with one wing high. You have to understand that I also sell a aux tank system, so it is not every day that you will hear me endorsing someone else's aux fuel system, but I do believe in giving credit where credit is due, and Gil Gutierrez and Bill Blackwell did a great job of designing the system. In my opinion this aux fuel system is both easy to install, reasonably priced, and when coupled with the managed fuel vents (in the wing tips) is an excellent system. Having flown from Omak to San Marcos TX with both systems installed I personally would never consider installing one without the other. In fact I do believe that the CJ drivers out there that still have the stock tanks would do well to consider the installation of the managed vent portion of the system, it truly is a great aid in fuel management. Any info will be helpful. I dont see what is wrong with using the original system. Thanks,FORREST

--> Yak-List message posted by: "Roger Doc Kemp" <viperdoc@mindspring.com> Speaking of fuel bladders, does anyone know the status of the fuel bladders for the YAK - 52? I heard about them vicariously from guys that went to Sun'N'Fun. Claims to add ~7 gal/side using the existing fuel bays???? Where can they be found and how much?
