That shouldn't be hard to do.

Lots lighter and a lot more reliable. You can punt the rotary inverter too.
You might want to come up with a secondary path to the battery that can run
the EFIS and a radio so you can get down should the electrical system fail and
you find yourself in marginal conditions.

Yes. One set of sensors can drive multiple displays.

Let me go on with this. I am trying to do what *I* want in cockpit
instrumentation. This means that you can do anything from either cockpit. I
like to put friends up front but sometimes I don't have time to give them a
checkout so I want to be able to fly from either seat. Heck, I would like to
be able to solo my bird from the back seat for CG reasons. If you take my fat
ass out of the front seat and put it in back maybe the CG will fall into some
reasonable range without having to put weight in back. I can only do that if I
have complete control of everything in the aircraft from either cockpit.
It also means that I never want to have to look at an engine instrument. I
have even considered automating the louvers and oil shutter. Why should I have
to do that when a $5 computer can do it a heck of a lot better than I can. I
just want to fly the airplane. When I am on someone's wing I don't want to
have to worry that something is going on up front that I don't know about.
Sure I can look at the engine instruments if I really care.
Just a thought.
I can't comment on the Yak's electrical system but the CJ6A's electrical
system is a joke. It is like something out of a Boris Karloff movie. I would
be afraid to fly the CJ in hard IFR with the existing electrical system. There
are just too many single points of failure.
When I was looking at restoring The Project I decided to dispense with every
trace of the old electrical system. This means that all the old
instrumentation goes too. Talk about putting the airplane on a diet! Now I
have to replace it with something. Nothing out there really does what I want
and I want to provide both seats with complete instrumentation *AND* control.
So being an ex computer geek who used to build networking equipment ...
