Gang,
I think I need to relate our experience with Blue Mountain here. To
say the least, it has been very frustrating. We are a dealer for BMA
and each and every system that we have put in to an aircraft, be it the
EFIS one or EFIS Lite, has had problems. Initially they were very good
with customer service and support, however, our customers are growing
increasingly frustrated with them due to the fact that problems
continue to surface (like the unit freezing right after I entered
IMC...gee, what fun that was) after they are supposedly "fixed" and
customer support has increasingly waned. I unfortunately have heard
similar accounts of frustration from outside our customers, as well.
Greg Richter (the owner) is a good guy, and extraordinarily talented.
He has personally flown out to Phoenix on more than one occasion to
troubleshoot problems. However when there is more than one customer
that is very dissatisfied with both the lack of consistent performance
with the product and less than stellar customer support, it is very
concerning.
Bang for the buck the BMA systems are the best out there....when they
work. To me there is nothing more frustrating about airplanes than
having an unreliable system that needs constant attention, puts
significant down time on the aircraft, and increases your stress level.
Last time I checked we fly these things as a stress *release* not to
increase it.
FWIW, even the engineers at Chelton say that not having standby gauges
to get you out of the slag is not smart.

Yaksters,
In addition to the 52TW, I have a 1947 90hp J3 with floats. I have
considered selling it and replacing it with a similar STOL, low and
slow type. But one with more room, more gas, electricity and a
radio. I have seen the Wilga 104 and it seems to fit the bill, be
more durable than an older PA18 and has 4 seats. It also fits with
the Yak.
Anyone out there have any experience with this type? Or do you know
if parts are readily available? Any info would be appreciated.

For those who have inquired, my book entitled "A Guide To Civilian Formation
Aerobatics" has been completed. It is a comprehensive detailed examination
of the subject.
The final manuscript has been edited and the first 50 editions are
published. They are now available and will be sold on a first come first
serve basis.
I truly wanted to keep the price under $20 USD, however evidently I have
lost touch with printing costs! Therefore, the final cost of the guide will
be $30 plus $4.95 for shipping within the continental United States.
For those of you who reside elsewhere please send an appropriate additional
amount for a package that weighs 1 lb (16 ounces), and measures 9 X12 X 1
inches.
Until I set up the wesite to process payment online, please send a check or
money order for $30, plus
shipping, along with your mailing address, and I will ship by parcel post
directly to you.
Make the check out to:
"Ron Spencer", and mail it to:

Thanks, and enjoy it!

Ross
I just had the same problem with my 52 throttle cable. There are a couple of
options available. We looked into replacing with American cable, but in the
end we bought a 52 replacement cable. Worked out fine. Removal and
replacement was difficult and looked impossible for a while. Working the cable
about,
slowly and surely got it installed. Like I said, when we started we thought
it was going to be impossible.
I can look for the american cable options if you are interested. Also you
might check the Yak list arch. since I asked the same question about two months
ago.
