Thanks for your suggestions and shared experience. I put more effort into
testing and inspecting the old and new metal chip sensor. Everything was okay.
The connector was good as well, so started to work my way back through the
wiring. It turns out the wire was rubbing upon the ignition harness because of
a poor wiring route and tie-down scheme. Easily fixed and working great now.
I should have started with the wiring in retrospect, but the warm/cold clues
misled me and I forgot to start with the simple stuff. Thanks for your
inputs, you made me think through the problem.

She just gave us a big blow job! A lot of wind and overcast ruining the
