I have a huge baggage compartment in my CJ that covers from the rear
seat to a vertical bulkhead behind the battery and ADF racks. It was
done by a mechanic in Oregon and he did a great job. If you want the
information contact me off the list.

There are two sorts of fuel injection systems for the M14P:
=D8 The Airflow system, which is a traditional =91Bendix=92 mechanical system,
but seems to work quite well on the M14P, probably because it has a significantly

Please take a look at the GALDF fund site things are starting to get tight
and you know as soon as one case is won the NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard)
types will feel their oats and start acting in your area.

Hi Phil,
Did you see the baggage compartment in Betty? It's pretty large.
I can remove the floorboards and show you the structure.
If you wanted to duplicate it, you could use my floorboards as
templates and
measure/cut some aluminum rails to match my support structure.
It was done before I bought her.
Brian? Did yakity do that baggage mod for you?
I also have a very large access door to the compartment, with beefed-
up surrounding structure.

sacrifices and 100's of thousands like them that we enjoy the rights we

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men
who signed the Declaration of Independence?
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors,
and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army;
another had two sons captured.
Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or
hardships of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes,
and their sacred honor.
What kind of men were they?
Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.
Eleven were merchants,
nine were farmers and large plantation owners;
men of means, well educated,
but they signedthe Declaration of Independence
knowing full well that the penalty would be death if
they were captured.
Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and
trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the
British Navy. He sold his home and properties to
pay his debts, and died in rags.
Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British
that he was forced to move his family almost constantly.
He served in the Congress without pay, and his family
was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him,
and poverty was his reward.
Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer,
Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.
At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that
the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson
home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General
George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed,
and Nelson died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.
The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying.
Their13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill
were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests
and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his
children vanished. Some of us take these liberties so much for
granted, but we shouldn't.
So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and
silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they
paid.
Remember: freedom is never free!
I hope you will show your support by sending this to as many
people as you can, please. It's time we get the word out that patriotism
is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer,
picnics, and baseball games

Me, I'm up for Genuine American food on the 4th, like pizza, tacos, hotdogs, and
hamburgers :)
P.S. Since moving to lakeland (LAL) and listening to ATC while I'm hanging out
in the hanger, I can't believe all the Brits I hear working on their PPL renewals.

The war in Afghanistan touched my home today. One of the men killed in that
helicopter shoot down was a class mate of my daughter and son in high school.
Like many of the kids who hung around with my kids down stairs in our family
room at our home in Connecticut, I always felt 'comfortable' while sharing a
coke or few words with him. Steven was a "nice kid." Bright, friendly, and
courtesy.
Knowing him and his family, I wasn't surprised when he applied for West Point
out of high school. Though he and my kids went their separate ways, they
kept contact on and off. He made a career out of the Army. He married early
this year, and than was transferred to Afghanistan. A few months ago, his new
wife miscarried their child. He was the troop commander of the group going in
to support another unit under fire. Word is that his copter was hit by a RPG,
flew a mile or so than made an unsuccessful force landing, rolling down the
side of a canyon.
I thank God my son is not over there. But His real gift to me was the likes
of Steven Riech. My son may some day find a cure for some desease in his stym
research, but the likes of Steven gave you, me, and my son those kind of
choices. .
Next week my daughter and her school buddies will be at a memorial service
back in Connecticut. Just what hurts me right now is seeing my daughter feel
the same lost I did with school chums in Vet Nam.
These are freedom's sacrifices.

An entire SEAL team was lost when that CH-47 went down outside KABUL.
That was the best of our best. There will be a lot of reflection this
holiday regarding the investment in our continued freedom.
