Well said. Freedom is not free. It has a price. It was paid in blood by
generations that preceeded us. It is being paid now by those of us that
stand watch over it both at home and overseas (for those of us that are US
citizens). For those that are not celebrating the birth of our Nation
weekend, we still appreciate the support our Allies gave before and are
giving now as we combat a different form of tranny.

Pappy,
Please convey the condoelences of myself and the AL Air National Guard to
this young warrior's family. I too have lost many friends both is combat
and not being in military aviation. It is a sad moment when any warrior (or
human being for that matter goes down). The scripture says," No greater
sacrafice is the sacrafice a man makes in laying down his life for
another." God has already shown his mercy on the sole of this young man. We
are the unfortunate ones. We have to remain behind and carry on knowing his
sacrafice was made so we can continue on in freedom.

They can't afford to. They have user fees. Another benefit of living in the
good ol' USA.
Happy 4th and fly safe knowing we have reaped the spoils of war in our
niffty "Red Star" adorned YAKs and CJs (along with the rest of those
eastern bloc a/c that fly in the FREE skies with us).

We lost 16 of our best on that ridge and we all lost sons. They will be
mourned, honored, remembered, and buried with the same respect they deserve.
Airman, Seaman, Marine or Soldier..they are all the best this country has to
offer.

Yes, but you only have to deal with one. Here theres no such thing as
a standard. Try certifying an experimental/exibition plane in LA. At
least with the jets its impossible.

Subject: | Kimball Clean Kit for M14P |
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Jim Ivey" <jim@jimivey.com>
Yakkers:
Has anybody tried the clean kit from Jim Kimball Enterprises of Florida
(M14P)? It basically consists of an oil shutoff valve at the oil tank and a
scavenge pump hooked to the low part of the nose case sump. They also have
intake drain kits but I already have that installed.
My concerns were over whether the oil shutoff could cause a point of failure
in an otherwise foolproof system. Kevin Kimball told me there is a
microswitch attached to the oil shutoff that basically disables the start
solenoid when the valve is off. I don't know if this would help in the case
of in-flight valve closure or hand starting where the start solenoid is not
as important.
Comments?

I had the Kimball system installed on the TW. It is well engineered and
works without a problem.
You will find little or no oil in the lower case and cylinders. Would open
the clean valve and only a few drops of oil would come out, also the exhaust
stacks.
Was very pleased with the installation and design.
Hopes that this helps.
