    Subject: List Digest Truncation Fixed!!
--> Yak-List message posted by: Matt Dralle <dralle@matronics.com> Dear Listers, I finally figured out today what was causing the occasional truncation of the daily List Digest emails. Seems that every once in a while a message would contain a single "." (period) on line all by itself. The mailers would see this and assume that this was the universal emailer signal for "end of message", and consequently wouldn't process any of the rest of the Digest message. I've put in a filter today to remove any of these sequences so we should be back in business on the Digests. Best regards, Matt Dralle Matronics Email List Admin. --> Yak-List message posted by: Herb Coussons <drc@wscare.com> Because the mass formation starts on Monday the 25th, everyone should try to make it in by SUNDAY 7-24 before NOON !! If you arrive Monday it will be hard to get the practice with the larger group done. So far 4 people have arrival dates of 24-25-26 down. 5 people had ? on arrival. The more the merrier and with all the NATA flights in the sky at the same time numbers would look great. --> Yak-List message posted by: cjpilot710@aol.com Troops, A number of people have asked me "when are you going?" FWEIW, I plan on arriving on Saturday the 23rd. I just may start out from on FD44 on the 22nd. It would be very nice if we can practice a few big formations on Sunday the 24th. Practice early on Monday may OR may not be doable. It could be tight timing wise. Jim "Pappy" Goolsby cell 386-503-9820

--> Yak-List message posted by: Roger Baker <f4ffm2@adelphia.net> Barry: I was more or less done with my comments on the subject of what this forum is for....however, since you addressed your comments to me on the list, I will reply to you on the list...even though I think it is inappropriate. I absolutely disagree with you that this is a forum for talk about any and everything. I come here ONLY for airplane information. Your analogy to a hangar party is specious. At a party anywhere, hangar or not, if the person to whom I am talking starts spewing vitriolic hateful mindless things...you're right, I can and will walk away from that person. However, when I am reading the list; I must, at least to some extent, read each posting. Your "symbolic walking away" from offensive persons on the list would pretty much mean not reading the list with the resultant inability to be exposed to the (aviation) information that I have come to the list to get. The lack of consideration shown by those few who insist on reprinting the entire threads that they are interested is just that, lack of consideration to the point of rudeness. However, when someone on this list begins to spew hate speech....such as was done by a frequent contributor to this forum a few days ago attacking some relatively inoffensive atheist, then we have moved into a realm that I find intolerable. That particular statement was intolerant, mindless, hateful, and insulting. It was incredibly similar to to statements that I have read that quote other religeous zealots from far away lands that are frequently in the news these days. I don't care to socialize with either extreme. And I don't want to read trash from either group when I'm looking for Yak friendly information. Roger

--> Yak-List message posted by: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net> Roger, et. al., First, let me start by saying I respect you as a person and an aviator. I consider you a friend. > Barry: > > I was more or less done with my comments on the subject of what > this forum is for....however, since you addressed your comments to me > on the list, I will reply to you on the list...even though I think it > is inappropriate. Heck, Cowboy, I've been called a lot worse on this list...if that's inappropriate, you should hear me get out of bed in the morning! > > I absolutely disagree with you that this is a forum for talk > about any and everything. I come here ONLY for airplane information. That is why people, from time to time, want another list that only deals in hard core aircraft issues. Have at it. As for myself, I enjoy Craig "Mario" Payne's "pilot from the 'hood" lingo, Doc's "Purple Haze" MMO stories, etc. With that "free speech" edict, you're gonna get some knobs that say stupid, ignorant things. What's more, it falls outside of the "usage guidelines" (just like not paring down responses)...but unless the list monitor wants to spend every waking hour enforcing 'em, some useless drivel is going to make it on the list. > Your analogy to a hangar party is specious. Well, that's probably why I'd never make a good politician, I don't think that quickly on my feet and in this particular case don't have the time to spend to come up with something less spurious. > However, when I am reading the list; I must, at least to some > extent, read each posting. Your "symbolic walking away" from > offensive persons on the list would pretty much mean not reading the > list with the resultant inability to be exposed to the (aviation) > information that I have come to the list to get. I don't see it that way, but that's OK. Frankly there are some "authors" that I delete or ignore outright...and I'm sure some do the same to me... > > The lack of consideration shown by those few who insist on > reprinting the entire threads that they are interested is just that, > lack of consideration to the point of rudeness. Amen, but we all didn't have good mommas like you and me... <sigh> > However, when someone on this list begins to spew hate speech.... Roger that, Cowboy, no place for it here or anywhere else, but I've been on this list long enough to realize that the complaining never results in any positive change....at best it does nothing, at worst, it encourages them as they are only seeking attention to begin with. The only way to circumvent the problem is an active list monitor.... Back to work. Have to sell some jets so I can pay for the fuel bill to OSH and back....was about $300 each way in the CJ last time I did it 4 years ago. The -50 is CJ speed and I now have 42 gallons of fuel in it...wonder what it's gonna cost me this year...thank you OPEC! Did I say that out loud??? Argh, here we go again...... --> Yak-List message posted by: Cpayne <cpayne@joimail.com> Yo hommie, wait until you check out this po' boy's ride at OSH. I know I'm gonna piss off lots of folks: - P.C. freaks for the Luftwaffe markings - Yak drivers for Eastern Front kill markings - CJ drivers for my latest outrageous aero mod. Come on, you MUST make '05. RedStar is finally gonna shine. BTW: I'm charting out my course by checking fuel prices along the way, both 100LL and Mogas. I plan on loafing along at Yak-like speeds to get max MPG. Could be boring, seeing ducks slowly pass off the wing, holding formation on hot air balloons, ultralights zipping by...etc. Them Yak Guys must really have 12G spars in their backbones.
