For anyone who needs it, the OSH AWOS is on 920 426 1644. Yesterday the
temp. got to 33'F at 3000' - a T6 friend was out flying and left me a
message - I was working in an airconditioned building :)
Glacier Girl should be arriving this evening. I saw 3 aircraft already tied
down on the Vintage area when I was flying last week. There are volunteers
everywhere you look - at Weeks, at Pioneer, at Wittman, on the grounds, all
working incredibly hard to get the preparations done - its fantastic.
Aluminum Overcast came out of the hangar for the first time in months, and
will be open for ground tours if you have time. The guys have done a
phenominal job getting as far as they have, and you will see that there is
still a long way to go.
I hope everyone has a safe flight here, and as usual, if you have any
problems here that you think I could help with, give me a call - cell 920
203 0046. We live 5 minutes from the museum, (under the Fisk arrival), and
have plenty of space if anyone needs a bed. A good, new restaurant, for
those who have time in the evening, is the Vintage, at the Hawthorne Suites,
which is the hotel to the south of the outlet mall on the west side of Hwy
41.
For the person who asked which arrival to do, I have flown both, coming and
going daily. I recommend you use the warbird arrival as it is considerably
less congested, and very simple to use. The Notam pages on the EAA website
http://www.airventure.org/2005/flying/index.html#EAA%20AirVenture%202005%20NOTAM
gives pretty good instructions, and I believe there are some aerial photos,
tho' I'm not sure if they did the WB arrival.
Have a great time,
Janet

I have done both and last year I did the Ripon/Fisk at 2300' at 135kts. The
arrival was on Sunday afternoon and was quick and smooth.
